I have no experience with these at all but wanted to see about one for cleaning my M&Ps. Would I want a heated version? The only part of cleaning that I really dislike is scrubbing out the bore. Will this work nicely on this? I'm a little leary of putting the frame in any solution and also wouldn't want to submerse the slide due to the sights. Appreciate any advice. many thanks.

They work well. You want the heated version. It will loosen the stuff in the bore, even lead fouling. You will still need to run a bore brush through it a few times, if there was a heavy amount of fouling a little more.

I've run night sights through an industrial strength US cleaner with no ill effects. The white dots in the regular sights are just paint and are easy to fill back in if they do come out.

how long do you run yours? I bought one for cleaning brass & tried putting the barrel in once & didnt see much of a difference - maybe didnt go to long - used the hornady gun parts solution when I tried the barrel

20 to 30 minutes if it is really dirty, half that if not. Several products were tried. The L&R cleaner and L&R dry film lubricant seemed to work the best.

i think i used 20 minutes & heat - maybe I just dont mind cleaning the barrel that much so if it was faster then I really didnt notice
