My wife's uncle Curtis was a prison guard in the 1930s, and she just inherited his S&W hand ejector. We'd like to learn about its history. Details: S/N 18615, .32 S&W Long, 3" barrel, blue finish. Overall condition is good, but the grips are not original (stag).

It could be one of two models, the Model 1896 or the Model 1903, the serial # range started over at 1 in 1903. So the serial # was duplicated.
Does it look like this 1896 (except for the finish?
