Unique powder advice

Been using Unique for 40 years or so. Can use it in shotguns, pistols, some rifles. It is a very useful powder. Get a reloading manual for load data, they have a lot of other very useful data.

I decided to lay in a big supply of at least one powder. Unique was the one I selected. It will power not just every cartridge I currently reload, but every one I'm even thinking of buying.

I've had no problems loading it down to the 3.0-3.5 grain range in my Lee Auto-Disk. As reliable as Bullseye in that regard.

At the other end of the spectrum, I use it in .44 Magnum to the tune of 11.4 grains. Using the somewhat inconsistent Micro-Adjustable Charge Bar, the largest variance I ever got was +.3 grains--not bad for a charge of that size.

What have others been using for a load with Unique. I am loading 124 grain plated Everglade round nose bullets in 9mm and want the minimum load to maximum load. Currently loading with AutoComp at OAL of 1.15". I got a great deal 8 lbs of it. All I've found is 5.8grs. @ 1.12" and showing 1180fps.

Your listed load is the maximum and same as shown in the Lee #2, Speer #14 and Alliant 2016 latest manuals. Their agreed upon minimum load is 5.1 gr Unique for 1053 fps for a 124 gr JHP. Hornady and Lyman both show a good bit less. NO manual shows more.
There are more efficient powders for higher velocity and less pressure, but ya gotta go with what ya got and Unique is a good all around powder for all pistols if you only have one powder.

I use Unique in my 9MMs with 115 grain bullets. Also use it in several other handgun calibers, mostly lighter loads.
And unique gets used a lot in my 16 ga shotguns.
