Anyone know if alliant is going to make a run of unique anytime soon. I've looked for a year and have never seen it in stock at all. I understand the pandemonium going on, but I've seen bullseye, 2400, 231, lilgun, etc in stock at one time or another, but never unique. Nothing lasts long, but they've popped up.

My firearms prefer unique for the light stuff over anything else I've tried, 4227 and 2400 are tied for the magnum loads.

Anyway, just wondering.

It is in high demand and people have a tendency to buy all they find. That was the first thing I stocked up on when it looked like there might be a glitch in the supply system. Powder and primers are the limiting factor now..........

Unique is useful in an incredible range of cartridges. It's high on a lot of people's lists when a shortage occurs - even among the folks who call it "flaming dirt".

It's also one of the first powders that many shooters will stock up on once a shortage abates' so it'll stay in short supply for awhile.

Once it's back in stock and stays in stock at normal prices, that's the time to stock up on it.

Powder Valley had some Alliant powders listed several weeks ago and not just the ones nobody uses. I bought some Bullseye. I'd check their website daily if I was looking for powder.

I have picked up 3 or 4 pounds of Unique and several pounds of many other pistol powders in the past year. Definitely had to look for it.

I hope heaven has a reloading bench with my name on it, because I'll still likely have plenty to bring with me.

^Yes^ I found some Bullseye and 2400 there within the last month. I've never seen Unique, but something tells me it's coming. Slowly but surely they are getting more powder. It doesn't last, so you have to move quickly. The only frustrating thing is you have to pay shipping and hazmat fees on small orders.

About 6 months ago I noticed that the run on powders had begun--guys were buying 5 bottles of rifle powders or jugs of just about everything in stock at the one LGS who doesn't gouge. I didn't want to be "that guy," but I bought the last 4 pounds of Unique on the shelf and I'm glad I did.

The LGS got in a couple of small shipments of powder recently but no Unique. Lots of Titegroup, fwiw.

I've never used Unique, but I have a pound cannister I snagged on the last great reloading supply depression.

I've got a couple bottles, so I'm not hurting no more than I shoot, my job prevents ever having a day off due to the black hole manufactured goods seem to thrown into nowadays, so hardly any range time.

I was just wondering as I've seen bullseye, herco, and 2400 pop up. I figured unique was waiting its turn. Seems hp38 pops up fairly frequently now and hangs around a couple days, I don't use it though.

Oh well, just the up and down cycles this stuff goes through. If an 8lb jug comes up, I'm good for a few years, lol.

My local gunshop has powder of all kinds at pre pandemic prices too. He runs his shop as a hobby and not a 'make money business'. I was astounded at how much and variety of powder he has in back! Bullets and primers from him same same as powder. Guess I'm lucky!

As a note it has a new Gray lable instead of the old orange, if you are looking for it.

I got one new container a while back, while just walking by the powder section of one store.
Almost passed it up, with the new discise.

If you find any "Universal" it will work just as good as Unique in shotgun and small arms.

You should keep it a secret or there won't be any stock to purchase.
