Those of you that have been nice enough to read my posts have seen the pistol at the bottom. I finally got an email off to Mr. Minot at Lew Horton last week. I got my reply today. He has almost no information, it's like this pistol barely exists.
What he did find:
Lew Horton did receive 57 of these in 2001 as Melonited 4013's. No other details. That being said, it is not a Lew Horton Special, those runs have higher numbers of that gun. His best guess is that S&W were experimenting with Melonite and needed to sell the guns because as it has been mentioned, S&W wastes nothing.
Anyone think a factory letter might shed more light or should I save my $75?
