I recently came across an estate of several very nice guns and accessories. The previous owner obviously had good taste in firearms and owned some unusual/hard to find items. It took my friend and I two days to go through it all. These two magazine were in some boxes and I thought the smaller of the two was for a Baby Browning (25 ACP). When I got home to examine the haul I saw they were marked "Browning 22 LR". My search for a 5 shot Browning 22 came up empty. I thought the long mag might be for one of the many BAC 22 pistols but it is a 15 rounder with a stop notch on the back for a small frame 5 shot gun.

Does anyone know what these are for?

Ivan hit the nail on the head. Pistols with shot magazines have never been popular, and most small pocket .22 LR pistols carried 7-8 rounds.

Where 5 shot magazines are very common, and indeed almost standard, are on bolt action .22 LR rifles. If it's a .22 LR bolt gun and has a detachable box magazine it's almost always a 5 shot magazine, sometimes with a 10 shot version also available.

I did a little internet search and discovered that the T-bolt 22lr uses a curved body (old style) or the double helix, so it seems they are for something other than the T-bolt. I'm a little out of my knowledge base here.

That's it Chad. Just referred to my Isometric Drawing book. A-bolt has the 5 shot and 15 shot mags just like these.

Edit: imagine my shock when I saw what people are asking for them.

Sorry, I'm still stuck on "It took my friend and I two days to go through it all."....!
