US Government behind Windows 10 upgrade

The only thing she'll hear on the internet is what the government wants her to hear...
Really? If you believe that I'm starting a lead fedora factory you should invest in. :D

If you meant that tongue in cheek then you need to start using smileys. :)

Otherwise you're giving the impression that you're one of the tinfoil tricorn brigade... ;)

From my reading Windows 10 does monitor you a heck of a lot more than windows 7 and you have to configure it a great deal to get privacy back.

I don't think its the government I think its the corporations writing the softwaare the side benefit is that with subpoena power the government can monitor you through it.

You should be more worried about your car.

ALL cars in 10 years will come with built in cell phones and be part of a required cell network. They will allow remote access to monitor voice communicate with you and with onstar like efficiency if a public safety event occurs you will be reduced in speed, stopped or your car will NOT be allowed to drive all from remote control.

If police are in pursuit they will be able to command your car via the control center to reduce speed, idle to stop or remotely listen in or communicate with the occupants.

Cars WILL have this capability it is already designed in by Standards bodies. Adoption is a a 'law' away.

That only hurts because we're both in WA. :(

Still having a hard time "reading" you pard.
I'm thinking that's intentional.

But as to your original comment, if we could only see/read what the gubmint wants us to on the innerwebs, then this site - with all it's pro-gun and anti-gubmint talk - wouldn't even exist. :D

I think it may be getting close to time to buy Apple stock. I have used DOS and later Windows since the early 1980's and I was what would be described as a heavy user most of those years.

But I am really seriously thinking of making my next computer related purchase a Mac computer. I am tired of hundreds of windows updates each month if not each week, when some of them disable my computer, I am tired of the viruses, and I am tired of Windows invasion of my privacy.

Even if they give this version 10 away, you know there is a catch buried somewhere.

I am not savvy enough to run Linux, so it looks like an apple will be in my future. This is sad as I don't like Apple that much more than MS. Apple has focused on WiFi and high speed internet to the exclusion of us country folk who still use phone modems. But even if I have to install a satellite high speed connection which is like doing business with the Devil himself, it still beats having do deal with a MS product.

So I doubt I will be downloading Windows 10 other than I may try and put it on my old back up computer that is running Windows XP Pro now.

Apple OS isn't Linux, it's another flavor of Unix called OpenBSD with a pretty windows-like front end. Modern Linux distros look and feel like Apple OS and Windows.

My theory is all the vets that use the VA get a tracker attached when they go in for treatment. Every time I go they draw blood ( insert a new tracker. The local VA has a large array of antennas on there roof. There are six floors in the hospital but the elevator has only button for 5 floors Just a theory.

Listening station......... to spy on those pesky Canadians ....... they've never gotten over the War of 1812....just biding their time

Just got a new laptop this week for work (company issued) and it has W10. I hate learning new stuff. I was just learning the last version (7 or 8). I figure that outside of voting, I really don't have much say in what goes on in our Guvment, and I'm not sure my vote even counts anymore. So I'm going on with my life as usual, Windows 10 or not.

Dang, I just visited this site using W10, now you're all infected!

Tim McVeigh did claim that the Army put tracking chips in his buttocks.
