Valuation on Rare? 2.5" model 10

I have a 2.5" model 10-8 in .38. It is from the MSP run of revolvers and i have a letter from the desk of the MSP homicide LT. Confirming it was his revolver. Its in pretty decent shape, no box, very wide target trigger, service hammer. just looking for a value on it as i may have to sell soon for..... reasons dang it. Thank you!

I would keep that one and sell something else! Great looking Smith. Never knew there was a 2 1/2" Model 10. That should definitely add to the value. As crazy as prices have been on vintage Smiths, I would hesitate to put a value on it, but it should be on up there.

Looks to have been re-finished at some point. Great balance on these K-frames.

780 made. 500 or so went to the FBI. Balance to Michigan State Police. 101 released as surplus.

So yeah, pretty rare duck. Strictly a guess but four figures for sure.
