Welcome to the forum.
With the AJY prefix I'd say 1986. Pretty gun.
I'll leave the value for someone else. You know the grips are not factory? Do they have the original box and any accessories?

One just sold on gunbroker in a presentation case for $1450 with the original stocks. Dated to early eighties.

I would offer $600.00. I have the same gun in blue. It has LARGE cylinder throats. It will not group any .452 lead bullet. I shoot my cast .454" dia. 250 gr bullets in it and it is accurate with those.

Does your revolver have a N prefix serial number? It has been posted here on the Forum a number of times that the M25-5s with the alphabet prefixes don't have the oversized throats.

Pretty sure that one will have the tighter throats.

WILDPIG

I have a 4" 25-5 made in 1984 with an N900000 range serial number. The throats were corrected in 1982 when the barrel pin was eliminated. Mine is not pinned and throats are tight.

I agree with MuleyGil as I have a 6" 25-5 that was shipped in September 1985 with an alphabet prefix and non-pinned barrel and it has tight throats.

Thanks for the info. I bought the gun today. Is there any reason it would have a A on the left side by the grip?
