Value of four inch model 625-3

I have 3 625s and a 25-2.

My wife's friends husband would like to buy my well used 625-3. A local dealer over the phone told him $400-500 without seeing it. Half of retail.
I know I paid a lot more than that and I think they are highly sought after.
It has a super sweet trigger but has been shot a lot.
I wont part with it for that but what is probably fair?

I have turned down $1,200.00 for mine more than once. I could not replace it for that price.

I keep looking for a nice 625-? with 3 or 4 inch barrel under $800. Haven't found one yet. Did buy a couple 5 inch 625s (-6 and -8) for less but even those were several years ago and most I see now are around $800. I think anything under $800 is probably a "friend and family" price. Good luck.

Keep in mind the 4 inch is actually tougher to find than the 3 inch ones since they made less 4 inch 625s than 3 inch and 5 inch but more demand for the 3 inchers so they command more money. Use sold auctions for value. 400 is a joke. I would think for a high use one still min 750.

Thank you. I would like to get a 627 V Comp for walls of steel otherwise I wouldn't even think of parting with it. I'm going to show him this and I'm sure he will keep looking for the $400 one.
