I have this old safety hammerless that appears to be in pretty good condition. I've fired about 50 rds thru it but it doesn't really fit my hand very well and I find the grip safety a little annoying. I'd like to sell it locally but I'm not sure what they're going for. I think I paid about $250 ten years ago.

That's a pretty nice example of a blued one which isn't seen too often around here at least. If one came up for sale here locally I wouldn't mind paying $350 for it. The ones you see most are nickle and usually aren't in as nice condition.

1920s stocks were penciled with the serial number so you might have to look closely, or the number may not be visible at all if someone cleaned the stocks. The number will be on the inside of the right stock.

Since a quarter million of the 38 Safety was made, values remain low. One cannot be sure what percent blue remains, but most nice condition Safety revolvers, similar to yours, sell for around $300 based by my observations. Mint condition guns will command higher prices. Your revolver shows wear on the stocks and maybe some brown patina on the barrel, but still presents very well.

No markings on the grips and there is considerable bluing loss on the barrel (doesn't show in the pics).
