A co-worker has offerred to sell me his 29-5, but we can not determine a fair value. I will agree to sell the 29-5 back to him, if he ever wants it back. He is raising funds to build ot buy an AR-15 and his wife says he must "sell" one of his lesser used guns first, so he is "hocking" it with me and I can shoot it if I want.

Barrel length will come into play here, as the 4" guns are worth the most it seems. Also, is this a "Classic" 29 with the full underlug barrel? A pristine 29-5 should be worth $550-750 depending on a few variables.

I know its a different dash number but I just bought a 29-6 for $480.00, not sure the value difference between the 2 dash numbers.

What kind of a deal is that-if he ever wants it back?? Look around you can find a better deal than that.

+1 to the guy who said to forget having to give it back someday if he wants it. Dumb deal and the guy should never ask you to do it, unless he will "hock it" to you for a seriously-reduced price, like maybe $300. You can find a nice gun on the auction sites for $600 or so, even a short-barrel gun.
