Value/Price ? on tool kits and empty box's

Hi Guys,

Sorting through all the junk in my gun room and came across several complete unused SW tool kits from the 1980's. 8",6"and 4" cleaning rods with screwdriver, brush and swab in plastic. Box is dark blue for a 6" M29 with label on it. Looks 90%+ with vapor paper and plastic trigger guard holder inside....

Just wondering what to price them for when I post them for sale sometime this month... Any input would be appreciated on market values.... Or is it best to auction them on ebay or gunbroker?

If you have a GB or Ebay account that might be a better way to sell if you can't determine a price.
Now that being said, it would sell here faster (I think) in our classifieds because this is where the people are that are most likley to need it.

Get a package price in mind and put it in our classifieds. Give the forum members first chance !!!

I would much rather post a for sale here on the SW site since someone could use them to complete a collection...

I am not a collector, just a shooter. I own over 10 SW handguns and pretty much have all the boxes and tool kits that came with them. The 3 I have left over are from guns I bought and sold over the years. Same goes for the box....

The reason for the original post was just finding out the market price to list the stuff for. I have done the same when asking about market prices for other SW handguns. The high prices on Gunbroker are not really what the guns will sell for. Fair market is what something will sell for. I am just trying to find what the fair market is for the tool kits... $20-$30, $35-$50 ?? Box $25-$35 ??? Just looking for a realistic ballpark idea is all... Not sure the putting them all in one basket package deal is good either...

I really don't know and that is why I am asking... Did not mean to piss anyone off...

BTW.... I have sold stuff on both GB and Ebay and both are becoming ripoff places with all the high fees.... Would rather sell things here in the for sale forum for less money and no fees... Just a donation to the site.

I'm in need of a 4" tool/cleaning kit, they go for crazy prices on Ebay and other places like that. Personally I feel $25 is a fair price for a modern one but I've seen them sell for a whole lot more. Boxes it just depends on what it is and what vintage, they go from $20 on up to crazy prices as well.

Hello again Condo S&W. I didn't mean to come off as pissed off!?! Note the smile at the top of the last reply.

Gunbroker has a search option that will let you search completed auctions. You might try that with the N frame box and then the tools. I mentioned GB because it's an auction and you wouldn't have to price them. 0.1 cent reserve and it sells for what it sells for.

I've seen the one piece boxes sell for $25 - $30. I've seen the tool kits sell for up to $40. The little screwdrivers alone will bring $8 to $10.
