This is not good. Nor do I feel legal. That does not seem to stop them. I fear that many will not get the help they need for fear that their rights and freedoms will be taken away.

Exactly...I know of 3 gentlemen I served with who were in the "thick of the ****", with over 5 tours in Afghanistan each, who know they have some sort of stress related issues related to extended and frequent combat tours followed each time with continued non-stop training while back home in preparation for their next "job." These guys are fully aware of what the VA is trying to do, and have done with thousands of unsuspecting veterans who have seeked advive, counseling, or care from the VA only to find that they have been "blacklisted" with a letter from the VA to DHS and with a report to NICS.

Tbh this is bull****. I have friends with "PTSD" and I would trust them with a firearm far more than most of the "gun nuts" I see at the range with their decked out ars they never fire but always seem to carry

It never was intended to be a "gun grab". The problem is that admin types within the VA have unilaterally decided to report all "suspect" veterans with "issues", financial or otherwise to NICS...that is the problem.

Other than filing for my "physical" disability a few years back, I have no contact with the VA at all.
