After picking up a pristine Taurus 85 .38 with a 2" barrel, I was digging around in my safe rounding up all my .38 ammo. From my LEO career, I had 110 +P+ treasury loads, and Federal Hydra-Shok 147 +P+ stuff, too. In the back of the safe, I found an almost full box of Smith & Wesson brand .38 Special, with 158 grain JHP +P. Product Code is "S38-JHP"

In the 1970s and 1980s, I used the 90 grain JSP 9mm for my Model 59, and really liked it. I don't remember where or when I got this .38 ammo, but it was probably the early 1980s.

Does anyone have the specs for this stuff from a 2" barrel??? It has the Rock Creek, Ohio address, rather than East Alton, Illinois one. Also, anyone know about what year it was produced? I don't recall any S&W ammo being produced after the early 80s.

Thanks in advance

These boxes from the Rock Creek plant had a month and year stamped on one of the end flaps in the form of a clock- year in the center and the month by pointing on one of the twelve months, kind of like a sun-dial.
