It appears to be a belly band holster primarily intended for a small auto, but small revolvers should also work since it is a 'universal' design. Has anyone tried one?

I'm looking for something to carry my 642 while on my bike, and in hot T-shirt and shorts weather.

Looks good, John. The level 2 retention is a big plus, and sets it aside from many belly band type holsters. This one can also be carried in multiple ways too.

Many years ago I did try a belly band holster for a M60 Chief's Spl. I don't remember the brand name but I do remember I only used it once as I did not care for it.

I have not tried the VNSH, but I have learned to avoid most carry methods that use elastic/stretchy stuff. It just does not hold up over time. Perhaps for very light weight guns, maybe.

On the bike, the stretchiness may be a benefit, as long as it holds up. I've tried a holster that clips onto my shorts, but that requires 2 pairs. It also tends to be too tight to keep it from moving around while pedaling.

I'm still a bit more rotund than I prefer, hoping the bike helps solve that.

FWIW, I’m mainly thinking of the holster portion being elastic being a bad thing. The belt portion, seems that would be fine assuming you have enough adjustability to keep it snug.

I've never used one, so I can't say for sure, but I know when I'm working out, exercising, etc., I don't want anything on me that I don't need around my chest and midsection due to sweating.

I know the "Smart Carry" is supposedly pretty popular, and I've heard of people wearing them while walking, running, biking. No personal experience. Water proof backing I believe.

Or just get a Hill People Gear chest pack. Discreet enough, and you could stick your phone, wallet, gun all in the Kit Bag. They make bigger and smaller models.

I have a SmartCarry. I think it useful for deep concealment, tucked shirt, when you really want to be sure no one can ID ya as carrying. It's slower to draw, of course, than most holsters, and takes some manipulation when ya need to hit the head.

I think it a good option for the holster drawer.

I have one. The basic idea seems sound. But, due to the fact that I am quite thin, and carry an Equalizer, seems to drop down and I must frequently pull it back up. That said, the quality seems very good and it may be suitable for me if I carried a lighter/smaller gun.
