Walked our on a barber today. Lousy Seervice

I'm afraid that's the customer service we will be forced to live with from now on….. I don't see it ever going back to when the customer was top priority. Self checkout is one of the most blatant examples.
And don't get me started how mobile orders and the drive through take precedence over my order at Starbucks and similar establishments when I took the time to park and walk in and place my order in person, but have to wait while all the other drinks or orders are made ….. they have closed two locations near me because of no drive through.
I went with a family member to pick up Marijuana in Michigan for MS treatment i was floored the level of customer service Nothing but Sir , How Can We Help You , Can i answer any questions ect ect ect

For about a hundred years the Colorado State Penitentiary ran a barber school, teaching inmates a useful trade to make a decent living. Then someone noticed that the Department of Regulatory Agencies would not issue licenses to convicted felons. Go figure.
So much for rehabilitation.

I have a friend named Julie, whom I've known from church for many years, who cuts my hair. And, since my wife is disabled, she also comes to our home and cuts her hair. She does a fantastic job, and my wife and I are both happy with the situation.

But I do miss the old-time barber shop.

Been going to my shop for around 50 years. Started with his dad and now just the son.
About the only things that changed - Fresh paint job and no cigarette smoke.
Price has gone from $5 to $15 thru the years.
No price rise since covid.
He gets a $20 each time.
Excellent service.

My wife has been cutting my hair since the covid shutdown. I don't have much hair so a #2 run around and and over my head for a few minutes and done. Save gas and wear and tear on vehicle going to barber shop plus cost and tip of haircut. More money for powder and shot. Larry

I have a friend named Julie...

When I was a young lad, in my early twenties, there was a "coed" hair salon/barber shop in a little indoor mall downtown. I started to go there when the old timey barber shop (two brothers) closed that I had used since I was a young boy. At that salon was a young lady named Julie, about my age, who somehow knew exactly how to cut my hair (I never had a lot) and she was not only very good at it but she was also quick! I bet less than 10-minutes. And it always looked perfect. Never before, nor since, has anyone done as well. The real clincher was she was something of a beauty, in my eyes, at least, but hardly ever spoke a word to me. Always polite, but all business. I guess that intimidated me because I never asked her out, and subsequently always wished I had at least given it a shot. One day I went in for a haircut, determined somehow to broach that subject, and she was gone! :o

Been going to the same little shop run by a bunch of Asian ladies for the last 20+ years. It started off at $1.99 and is all the way up to $6.99 now.:D

If they ever close I will probably start taking the dog shears and buzzing my own back to 1/8 inch.

My daughter went to cosmetology school at the local Vocational school. After graduating, she went to barber school. She cuts my hair once in a while, but I don't like to impose on her.
Found a lady barber in the town close by and I go there most of the time. I think she charges $12.00, not sure, but I always give her a twenty.

Needed a haircut.

Ray Stevens and his Haircut song have warnings about going to a new barber.

Bekeart

My barber is in Butte and she is as tough as Ray describes in the song, even if the gender is wrong.
