So the wife had to go to Walmart today to return a few things for the house. Well anyways i told her to check on some ammo for me. Well they had what i needed and she called me back and told me they were only allowing 2 box of ammo per Customer. So i told the wife go get a Manager and she did. Well after waiting and waiting on the phone Manager picks the phone up and says sorry Sir you can have as much ammo as you want. It is amazing how a simple tone in your voice can change things. What the hell is going on with these vendors and stores. I mean come on. If you know the **** is selling. DON'T LIMIT IT. STOCK IT !!!

They were probably just trying to make sure everybody gets a chance to buy some. Trust me, the shelves would be full if they had the stock.

I noticed today that my local Walmart had posted limits of 6 boxes per customer. That was not a problem with me-I bought the last box of Federal 158gr LRNs(the first I'd seen there in a month or so) and that was all they had that interested me.

Unfortunately, they also raised their prices across the board. The above 38 specials that were previously $18 are now over $20.

This happens every time there is some sort of panic in DC. My local WalMart was out of almost everything w/the exception of some .22 and .40. I picked up the last box of 100 rounds of .40 while I was there.

My local Walmart has the .40's full. I counted (18) 100 round boxes of Federal yesterday. To bad I shoot 9mm.

yeah if there limiting its due to lack of stock its what we had to do at our walmart at times. also why sale items sometimes are limited to 2 or 4 or 6

I've been wondering ever since the shootings in Sandy Hook and the panic buying and hoarding that has followed, where everyone has been for the past four years? I've bought a box or two of ammunition every other week when I do my shopping. No shortage here.

Shotgun shells and a box of 30-30's and .22 magnum was all
that was on local Wallyworld shelves today here.

It's quite comforting to know that many handloaders deal very well with panic ammo buying . Where there is this kind of incentive. Encourage everyone to get in the game and break the strangle hold. Let the ammo on walies shelves gather dust.

22lr, 9mm, 223 and 7.62x39 are all gone at my local Walmarts. (and gunstores and sporting good stores).

Still a lot of 40, 357, 38, 270, 308 though.

I remember when I lived "up north." At the first snow flake, the stores were emptied of bread, milk and toilet paper!

When there is a perceived shortage, everyone who can will start hording - ensuring that there will be a shortage.

I always wonderd about the bread and milk thing... I want to hord the beer and pizza!!!!!

And is it reloading if your setup to bake your own bread????

I sit here recovering and look longingly over at all the .357 Mag brass I have to reload and the .38 Special brass in the basement. I do however have to get some 16 gauge ammo though in case it becomes really popular again, not too worried though.

I was at Cabela's in St Louis yesterday and they have a 10 box limit on ammo. They did have some Federal .223 and Herters 9mm in stock though.

Covers a lot of ground

That would cover a lot of ground here.
08 deer season 30-30 was scarce.
I look forward to, and hope things return to normal.
Thanks
Mike

Walmart here had nothing but shotgun shells and a bunch of 22wmr. The only pistol rounds they had was maybe 2-3 boxes of 380, 1 box of wwb 40 sw and 2 100 round wwb 40sw. Thats it lol

There is a Local Gun Store, that is known for wiping out WalMart's ammo supply and reselling it in his store..
In order to stop that, at times WM puts limit's on the boxes per customer..
if you need more than 6 boxes at a time, you are just ammo hoarding and denying others a couple boxes..

The time for ammo hoarding has long passed..:)

I stopped at Gander Mt in Knoxville last night. What a mad house! I picked up a couple things that I really didn't need. Most stuff was overpriced and hardly anything was price marked. Nothing was on the right shelf. It was nuts. So what kind of fool waits until now to realize that a gun without ammo is just a stick?
