Went to the local Wally world to day for a new compressor hose.
Stopped by to look for ammo and saw this being put in the rack.
DPMS...don't know much about the brand, but the price was right
based on the current market.
Have plenty of .223 ammo and had no AR...solved the problem.
This will do for a truck gun while at the deer lease.

I will decide later what type sights I want to put on it.
Manager stated they get an AR(various brands) in about once a week.
Still no .22 ammo.

No Installments....payoff when I get the bill.
Checkbook in the truck. Two other guys guys wanting to buy.
In fact, both waited till the NICS check was complete.

Walmart here had 2 shelves full of .223 the other day. My son and I bought 6, 3 per person limit. They are starting to get stuff back, just gotta be there at the right time.

That is a "basic" AR. Palmetto State Armory has some folding sights in stock. I like the Aimpoint PRO (Patrol Rifle Optic), but they're about $400. I seem to remember you get 2 mags with the DPMS.

DPMS is the lower end of the Remington ARs, below Bushmaster. Might need some tweaking, but should be perfectly serviceable for the money. Enjoy it.

Wooow that is a deal. DMPS 'low end'... don't think so. Probably 20 guys at the club have them and they are great. I shoot a buddy's 223 and 308 and I'll put it up against any of the others. Take care of them, replace a part or two (trigger) and have fun...enjoy. Great purchase.

DPMS makes good solid ARs. The only thing low end about that rifle is that it may not have all the bells and gee gaws that mall ninjas love.
It is a basic civilian version of the M4. It has everything you need except sights. No your DPMS is not a low end brand. It will make a great plinker, truck gun and self defense rifle.

Well that's just 2cool! :)

I would have snagged that also for that price.
Nice catch.
Personally i would turn that for a quick 4-5 dollar
profit right now and then "Find me a Colt".
But it would make for a good truck gun like you said.

Chuck

Local Wally Worlds and Bass Pro still have a few AR's trickling in every few days. Even some ammo, too.

i'd buy that "low end" rifle for that price and shoot the snot out of it..
but i would need to reload empties a lot

My esteemed Governor OberKaptian Cuomo has said (so it must be true) that ... " NOBODY HUNTS DEER WITH AN ASSAULT RIFLE"!!!!

I have been told that whatever a NY political leader says is the total truth and you can take it to the bank.

I must confess I have hunted our little hillcountry whitetail deer with an evil AR-15. 22 certerfire is legal in Texas. .223 is not my choice for larger deer, but when a fair sized buck often runs under a 100 pounds field dressed, why use something bigger.
