After waiting 15 minutes for a manager to come sell me ammo, they informed me they could only sell me two boxes of .22. It's not 2021 anymore Walmart. I can buy as much as I want online. I told her nevermind. I won't bother with them anymore.

In other news, they were wiped out of Modelo and Corona (but nothing else) in the beer section. Plenty of avocados.

I love WalMart! I was there today. A bunch of nice folks, and they’ll sell me all the .22s I want.

When I lived in Twin Falls, Idaho, WalMart decided to open a store. Local opposition was fierce, but it came to pass nonetheless.

I went there opening day, expecting to be able to park in the front row, since nobody wanted it.

It was packed. I gave up. I couldn’t get in for 3 weeks

I don’t understand the WalMart hate. Mine is nice - my take is if you have an awful WalMart you live in an awful area. Nice area=nice WalMart.

I live in area of mostly modest homes that sell in the upper 6 figures, are scraped off and replaced with $2-$3 million dollar homes. The two Walmarts near me attract a really odd assortment of low income seniors and people I avoid. It’s bizarre

Our Wal-Mart of preference is 2.2 miles away. It is a clean, well managed model of efficiency. It makes for an enjoyable destination.

The bulk of the Boomers that frequent it wear tactical Crocs, canvas cargo pants, 18 pocket deep concealment vests and "thank me" caps.

I just give them the secret eye wink and they give me a pass.

Unless you are in Wally world at 2:30am in your PJ's. Bathrobe and flip flops wearing a lime green bucket hat you can never appreciate the help and assistance you will receive and you will be followed on camera throughout the store so if you need assistance just look up at the nearest camera and wave for assistance to come to where you are.

I like Walmart, too! They have a great bakery! I order birthday cakes from them and tell them they have artistic license and as long as they have "happy birthday to _______X________", I'm cool with it. They are on time and I've never been disappointed with what they make. They've made some cool cakes! I don't think I've paid more than $25 for a big cake.

The only thing I don't really like is the fruits and vegetables - I'll go to famers market for those.

It's funny, a Walmart closed in the "international District", aka the "war zone" to those of us who live in the metro area and there were all kinds crying and carrying on. They closed because of crime and shoplifting. "Food desert" blah blah blah...Yet years earlier a Walmart closed in the Valley for the same reason crime, nobody said a thing...

I go early in the morning when I don't have to deal with the crowds.

Anyway, here in ABQ, all the Walmarts are the same in that they are dealing with crime - shoplifting.

Years ago my son was a manager at Walmart. This was long before Covid and limits on ammo. He has since moved on and is an executive elsewhere. It was a good stepping stone.

Right in the middle of the ammo shortage I went to his old store to buy some .22's. They had a whole cabinet full. The lady wanted to only sell me 2 bricks. I asked if she had been there long. She said yes and asked if she knew ****. OH yes she said, he was our best manager ever. She said how many bricks do you want? I had to go back out to the car to get some more bags so I could carry all the loot home.

Remember when Walmart kept pushing everyone to self checkout and never had any full service lines open? Now it is turned around 180 degrees. When I went a couple days ago they had all the self checkout lines closed and plenty of checkers in full service. I guess they decided that since they needed 'chaperones' on every self check to stop pilferage, they might as well just use full service checkers again. It was kinda weird to talk to a checker again for the first time in years.

Haven’t set foot in a Walmart for a couple years now.

That’s because we have our groceries delivered. Prices are the same as in store and delivery is free with a $35 or more order.

I pay a 10% tip to the delivery person. Well worth it. Don’t have hunt for what I want. No lines. No checkout. No stupid people.

If a mistake is made on my order, it’s very easy to get a refund.

It’s a no brainer.

Two big WalMarts in my area, both about the same 10 miles from me, one due east, the other southwest. Equally well stocked, good groceries, one has a barber shop and liquor, the other does not. The one east has better sporting goods and tech departments.
Because they are equally distant, I have to decide what I'm looking for before I turn left or right leaving home.
I don't buy their meat. Local Farmers Market has a marvelous butcher shop, with mostly locally sourced pork, beef, and chicken.

Locally, they were restricting self checkout around Christmas. At the store closest us, all of the self checkout stations are now fully open. I prefer self checkout as it is faster, no waiting in line.

There are those in my neighborhood that use grocery delivery services because they have mobility issues and they are most appreciative of them.

I, on the other hand, like going to Wal-Mart and other retail establishments as being the social butterfly that I am I enjoy interacting with people.

I have no idea if the people I Interface with are stupid or not as I don't carry MENSA exams, IQ or Roerschach tests with me.

I am a glass completely full kinda guy.
