I've had one of the original WALTHER PPS for a long time now. I just scored a second ( I like to have two of the guns I carry). Anyway a nice used one, looks new with 10 magazines for $399.!!! 6 eight rounders and 4 sevens. New the magazines alone would cost close to what I paid for the whole package. Nice to get lucky once in a while.

Good way of looking at it. When looking at semis for sale I always take the number of mags into account. Some rare guns have magazines that are unobtanium. The Steyr GB is a good example. Original 18 round mags fetch over $100.

I've carried a First Edition like this:

since they came out. Still one of the best tiny 9mms available IMO. Super carryable but also very nice to shoot at the range.

I think you scored a great deal for a wonderful gun with a large number of magazines. I've had one for years and wouldn't mind finding another.

I have a PPS-2 that I will carry sometimes. Excellent weapon.
Shoots well, 100% reliable and very accurate.

Love my two newly acquired PPK/S's if that counts! The stainless is a S&W Walther.

I have a West German gun as well. The first handgun I bought on turning 21.

I had read that Interarms was going to start making or assembling them here and selling them for much less, so I rushed to buy one. IDK if the dealer didn’t know what he had, or what. But what I went home with was German mfr imported by Interarms for the same price as the American version.

Due to its value, I rarely shoot it. Still have the box, papers, cleaning rod, factory target.

One of my very few safe queens.

The German made one has never been shot outside the factory was the story and I discovered this to be true after getting it home and taking it apart, I'll never shoot it, but the S&W ppk/s is a hoot to shoot and I carry it sometimes now. Have you seen what these things are getting on GB now! Mine have already more than tripled and doubled in value compared to what I paid, and they're only going up.

No, but I paid $300 in 1980.

I’ve got a couple hundred rounds of .380 ammo. Guess I’ll have to buy a different gun to shoot em in.

That's ok I don't mind a little drift.

Do you really have a "first edition"? Two tone like in the picture? That's 1 of 1,000 made. Kind of a holy Grail gun.

Yeah, looking through my files I don't seem to have ever taken a photo of it so I had to go with a Google Image Search result. When they were out, they weren't too hard to find and I only paid maybe $100 more than a regular PPS. It came with a nice aluminum case and a 3rd magazine.

Unfortunately, though, the cool anthracite finish is just painted on, so some of it around the muzzle has chipped off over the years.
