I am almost 72 years old. Out of that I was only married a total of about a dozzen years between my ex and my now wife. There were girl friends.
This is to show I was single a great part of my life. Most of that time also was in california, and I also am huge.
I see a lot of familiar things in your narrative and basicly been there, done that many times. No, not blow by blow, just like yours, but the bit of rescueing wild women that already are involved etc. Big D nailed my thoughts before I read this. What are you doing driveing 20 minuets to give a "friend" water that is admittedly partying with friends includeing her ex down a secluded road in the country. Dont get upset with me here, if I think about it I belive I can better than match that experiance a number of times. Through the years I had at least 4 girlfriends that I "rescued" and died on me far before their time. With all of them I was nieve and got sucked into their lives and problems and I well can guess the score. Go get yourself a good woman without baggage. Sorry for any offense, but I been there, done that repeatedly probley 40 years before you and in ways I hate talking about, I STILL am paying for it.

Sorry about that. I left that state 7 years ago and will never return (as much as I love the state - I very much dislike the politicians) unless they fix Sacramento, San Francisco, and Los Angeles..................or maybe sell them off!!

God gives very few of us civilians an opportunity to shoot someone who deserves it. But this story sounds like a mess all the way around. Booze, party, dark deserted country road, 20 minutes away, chicks, ex-husbands, cancer - I'll pass.

Look. I lived in california for roughly most of my adult life. Over 35 adult years at my humble night watchman job I had the PW to pack as a job requirement. Also my passion has been guns long before that. I will let you guess whether or not I packed off the job. I did get in a fracous once right down town los angeles where I pulled a gun and held two drunks that hit and run me REPEAPTEDLY about 3 more times after I got them boxed up. I didnt go to jail because of my job and non record. While not a legal excuse, that helped. Probley the fact that the driver also had warrants on him helped too. It was close to 40 years ago. Otherwise they probley would have jacked the jail up and rolled me under it.
Had Cudamack pulled a gun he would be in a room at the hospital and a deputy would be sitting at the door.
That said, I still would rather be judged by 12 than carried by six. In california you cant count on the cops all being cool cats like us.

Thanks for the replies. The words of encouragement as well as the kicks in the pants, (both deserved) I place the blame for the events squarely on my shoulders. Without beginning the drive there, none of this would have happened. I do fit in my 325i, both actually i have 2, as well as my 70' Cuda'. I have the knight in shining Armour complex. Although I have hung that up based on what happened.

Fresno County has a wonderful Sheriff who believes in CCW and last night I downloaded the app.

Not all life lessons are easy, and I realize that I could have been more injured or even killed. Time for healing, reflection and evaluating.
