Ive tried to situationally carry my edc rotation. For highest success if anything happens according to where I am,how crowded it will be,the legalities I could face if something does happen, expansion, penetration, 2 legged 4 legged attackers, night time low flash ,daytime not low flash, everytime I think I have it down there's a new ammo etc. Then some 19 year old kid says " meh its a metal projectile traveling at a high rate of speed , its going to stop a threat regardless" and im like "kid ain't wrong" lol

I just carry one. For all situations. Every day almost everywhere.

It’s my 4” 686 with personal protection.357 hollow points

Ok, yes it can be a little uncomfortable especially in my little sport car but it needs to keep its presence known. I don’t want to take comfort for granted

My main rotation, m and p 340 with speer short barrel 135 grain 357s, 327 pc 8 shot with hornady 125 grain flex tip and the 686 3 inch with speer gold dot 158 grain for 2 legged , and underwood 180 grain hardcast for the woods or big gator areas down here in florida. Thats 4 different rounds 4 just these 3 smh. It was easier and CHEAPER just carrying american eagle 158 grain sjsp rounds in all of them and dealing with the recoil. Lol

I'm not a believer in "one shot stops"........ I train and think in terms of "double/triple taps".

All my "carry guns" are DA/SA with Decocker only [Sigs and most Berettas] or slide mounted safety [S&W I do have a PC DPA 5906 that is decocker only]

I'm 72 and have been carrying the same model guns since 1988 to 1990. Sig P-series and 3rd Gen Smiths.

Ammo is mostly 9mm Gold Dot hollow points since the 90s.

I've seen more than a few "fads" come and............ go!

I will admit to carrying S&W .357 magnums out it Penn's Woods.

Yeah, I don't want to start the capacity versus power argument again.I think everyone should carry what they feel comfortable carrying. Some people. Can't look at it that way. And it starts to get heated and escalates , yad yada ..... , I get banned for a week l o l

The search is the fun for some folks. Its a hobby.

I’ve been here 25 years and in that time I’m pretty sure no member, out of the thousands of members, has shot anyone. Some will say a scary guy walked towards them and they got rid of him by deliberately reaching for their gun, but thats about it. It could just as well have been a chapstick.

To the OP, that kid is right. I carry because I did while I was working and I still can. But I’m not shooting anybody, and if I do it won’t be the stuff people argue about here that will make a difference.

It can be fun arguing about it though.

Indeed, I carry everywhere i go while simultaneously hoping I never need what I carry. Probably like most people , but if I do im ready and train and shoot constantly with the same 4 carry guns. I have some fun stuff for the range too. An example of what I vaguely referred to in the post is lets say im walking my 20 pound dog in the woods whilst visiting in ct ,where I do have a ccw, I bring my 686 plus with 7 rounds of bear defense rounds ,hard cast 180 grain. No bears but a meth head comes outta nowhere with a gun and tries to rob me ,I unalive him and the prosecutor looks at the load as overkill, looks at the fact I shoot and train 3 times a month in florida, sees im on this thread when they jack my phone, sees how many times I look at new guns and ammo etc etc, spins it like Im the scumbag and the jury of a 2nd amendment hating state says im a murderer? Lol PARNOIA OR HIGHLY POSSIBLE!?

Paranoia.

No "rotation" for me. I have one smaller pistol (single-stack 9mm) that I carry when I'm wearing shorts and t-shirts, and a larger (double-stack 9mm) that I carry when the weather allows for a better cover garment (which isn't all that often here in Florida).

Florida turned me into a pocket carrier ,bought tactical shorts that can fit an n frame snubby easily, been here going on 5 years and wore pants like 3 times and a hoodie like maybe 10 times in january

I'm 70, I quit thinking about it. If I have a loaded gun I'm happy.
+1. I carry one of three bare bones S&W M&P 2.0 40's AIWB in a $15 Houston holster. No light, no laser, no optic.

I believe too many are overthinking this.

I carry 357 revolvers and an shield plus , no bells or whistles on any of them either.

You don't wear pants? So that was you in the Herald.

I used to carry 24/7, but have backed off to mostly night or boonies or shady parts of town. Then it's an LCR fulla wadcutters or hornady lite. I do, however, have pepper spray and a really sharp knife. Or two.

LOL! This is an interesting and funny Post! Like my Florida compadres, we have to dress for the weather when we CCW...and that usually means t-shirts and shorts! I'm also in my early 70s, and although I probably should, I don't EDC. I tend to CCW whenever I distance travel or whenever we're headed someplace that I'm not completely comfortable. Depending upon the situation, I'll pocket carry either a PC M&P Shield Plus 9mm or a 642-2. If I'm out hiking in the wilds, I'll have a holstered M&P 10mm 2.0 or a 3" 686-6 Plus under an untucked shirt.

Here in Texas it's pretty much the same as in Florida, I don't wear shorts (you would have to see my legs), but jeans and a t shirt most of the time. I carry from the time I get up until I go to bed, I carry a Kimber Evo nearly 100% of the time, on the rare occasions when I'm not carrying it, I am carrying my Colt Defender .45, my preferred style of carry is OWB, crossdraw. With a t shirt or button up untucked, it conceals very well.

Amen!

I have and theres tendency differences in how it ends up for the law abiding defense guy in certain geographical areas of the country and who the prosecutor is,whether or not its an election year ,what ammo your using etc but no certainty of outcome for the exact same scenario even within the same state. I mean im glad I live in florida and not ct anymore thats for sure.
