Watches...your favorite go to and why, pic with gun or knife up to you.

42 years as a mechanic and for most of that time I wore those dirt cheap plastic watches sold at Wal-Mart. All those years ago they sold for $2. By the time I retired they were getting up into the $12-15 range! I was hard on watches and didn't see any sense in spending much money on a good one just to beat it up. Besides, those cheap, plastic junkers kept perfect time. ;)

During non-working hours I stepped up to a $35 Timex. Ain't fancy, but again they keep perfect time. That's what I still wear today. :D

Fact is that watches are getting scarce these days. The younger folks don't wear one. There's a clock in their phone.

Unlike the younger folks I can spend days without my cell phone.
Feel naked without a watch on my wrist.:D

You might have seen this one before.

Grandpa's Illinois railroad watch. My neighbor (and lgs shopkeeper) made the knife out of a forked muley shed that was collecting dust in the barn.

My regular every day watch is my Seiko SNZG15 Sport Automatic.

Tough enough to wear to the gym and good looking enough to wear when I'm wanting to look stylish.

I also wear a Garmin Fenix GPS watch when I'm wandering around on
the local West Virginia mountains, hiking, biking and camping.

Helps me find my way back when I wander off the trail. Tells me how long I've been out and how far I've gone. It has a lot more features that I have yet to have any use for.
I did get the optional remote temperature sensor. This is from a camping trip from last summer.

Yup, is says 112 degrees. I'm hoping to top that this summer.

Well...probably a lot of guys who accumulate guns also accumulate watches....something about loving mechanical devices, I suppose. I won't say which is my "favorite", but here is one that I used to carry when I wore a suit with a vest:

The Smith and Wesson shipped July 1887!!! (Still shoots really well).

Bit a very good photo, but it was handy....

Best Regards, Les
Very nice. I have a SW Model 1 as well, but it is in a display case now. Do you load the black powder 22 cartridges to shoot?

I have two TAG-Heuers, but my favorite is a Montblanc. Maybe because it has a titanium case and watch band, and it isn't a watch that you see every day.

Darn, my watch is out for repair after 26 years. When I was in the service I was told to buy Seiko watches, and I did. But, I noticed after about 3 years they needed service and they were never the same.

About 1992 I started diving and bought a Delma divers watch. Been working for 26 years although the seals finally started leaking and it's out for service now. After 4 years with the Delma I threw all my Seiko watches in the trash, I'll never own another.

When my watch comes back I'll post a photo with one of my guns.

I alternate between two Luminox Navy SEAL watches. Both keep pretty good time - each gains a couple of seconds a week. One is for every day wear; the other for more formal occasions. One has a plastic case and is very light, the other is stainless steel. As you can see, they are slightly out of sync here, but they were re-adjusted on different dates. I've had them for over 11 years, and with tritium hands and markers, they are still quite readable in total darkness.

I have a Sieko watch with Semper Fi engraved on the back. It was given to me by a Marine whose bunker was collapsed by an enemy rocket in Viet Nam. He was severely injured . There were only three survivors. I met two of them . I save the watch for special occasions. My every day watch is an old S&W watch which was also a gift from a retired S&W employee who is a former cop , firefighter , and Marine.

My working life required a wrist watch....since retiring....I have not worn one since. If I need to see the time....I will take one of my pocket watches...I have many.

This one is kinda unique....because in an email exchange with Timex...they said it didn't exist. I took this pic...to send to Timex....and they had no idea. Finally an older associate....after seeing the pic....told me it was very rare....most of current Timex employees had never seen one....
