Nothing personally against Dentists, but if waterboarding is so vile a method of getting intel, lets use dentists. I was thinking this as I sat in the chair this morning at my local dentist, as he explained that my root canal had failed, and that now we were going to have to try something called a Maryland Bridge. Then after 5 minutes of novacaine, he pulled out the metal post with a pair of pliers. I'm telling you, if I had some guy in there with pliers and he was asking me all sorts of stuff, I bet I would tell him everything I knew and a few things I didn't think I knew before.

I believe that both the Gestapo and the KGB did exactly that, perhaps the French in Algiers as well. Very effective I have heard.

Anyone read "The Long Walk"? I believe that the author was treated by the NKVD exactly that way.

I'm all for that

Barb... we were 'channeling' each other on this one...

One of my all time favorite movies.

Dentist? You want information fast? Point to his testicles with a pair of pliers. I'd give up the atomic formula.

I make them do the claening with the manual picks now!

Oh, you said pick. I thought you said something else. I was about to suggest a new dentist.

Waterboarding is pretty cruel and should never be used on human beings. It should be used only on savages that create computer viruses. Then, more harsher forms of torture can be applied slowly over time.

I am such a baby about getting my teeth cleaned that I used to get them to give me the nitrous oxide. Then we moved and the new dentist wouldn't do the gas but they did use a really great topical anesthesia they use for surgery, but that got banned. Now I just keep after my own teeth very well and don't go at all.

I've never had a cavity and, aside from the upper wisdom teeth almost 30 years ago, never had a tooth pulled. I did have periodontal surgery 25 years ago, it turned out because I had a good dental insurance plan and the periodontist had kids going to college. Rotten bastard.

Yep, "MARATHON MAN" gave me the heebie jeebies ( the book was worse than the movie).

Shoot, if they used a dentist to torture me I'd tell 'em what Billy Joe threw off the Tallahatchie Bridge !

this whole thing over torture is interesting

if you have ever had a colonoscopy, you know what i mean

imagine:

cia guy: achmed, you dont look well....i think we have to do some tests

achmed: i feel fine...i dont need no steenking test!

cia guy: it is a medical procedure done by a medical doctor strictly for medical purposes: to see if you have a dangerous medical condition
that might need treatment

achmed: well....i have been feeling a little faint lately....will it hurt?

cia guy: heck no....it is called a colonoscopy and it is used to look for tumors in your digestive tract

achmed: i dont like the idea of anyone looking up my breezer, but go ahead

medical guy adminsters the anestheia
achmed is conscious during the whole proceedure, but doesnt remember anything
stander by cia guy asks questions while achmed is "under"...not knowing that the anesthesia is like "truth serum"

achmed comes out of the proceedure feeling fine
doctor tells him that no serious medical condition was found
cia goes home with more than he ever could have gotten by inflicting pain and suffering

it's not that hard, is is?

we dont need no steenking torture!!!!!
