waxing a blue gun?

What would it do with "Black Magic" and Parkerized finishes?

I have alot of WWII handguns and rifles.

I used regular car wax, applied the same way, on my service revolver in the '70's. It kept the 4" Model 15 in great shape and I was a uniformed officer back then. I still keep the waxed and it works great.
