That's OK. I see lots of young police officers these days and I see more elitism that wasn't present when I first pinned on a badge back in the '70s. Oh, there have always been bullies hiding behind the shield, but a lot of this new crop of cops seem...different. Many want to be tacticool and aren't interested in what the LAW requires on their side of the badge.

You all may be crazy, but myself and a lot of other citizens sleep a lot easier at night knowing you're out there.

I worked as a Corrections Officer for a while and will probably be going to work for a PD here in the next year or so to give you an idea why I say what I say. You get paid to take risks in law enforcement and corrections, fire dept too. And here's what really matters, Your first priority should be to come home safely if at all possible while doing your job to the best of your abilities. And frankly if it comes down to it then go down as hard as possible if need be.
