Anybody with this model, if you could weigh it for me, I would appreciate it. Just curious. And maybe say what kind of grips. Or just post a pic. We could get a 2" model 10 pic thread going. OR maybe not. I wonder if we have a model 10 pic thread already......

This is my Model 10 no dash. Pictures of it have been posted here before.

It weights 28.7 ozs. unloaded. The weight is 31.85 ozs. loaded with 158 grain semi-wad cutters.

The PD name and rack number were factory engraved. (Montgomery, Alabama).

I wonder where the extra 3.3 ounces is.. Maybe the grips??? Or is stainless heavier than normal steel?

Super nice guns guys!! Keep em coming! (with weights if you can, but if you can't the pics are great too!)

I have several. I have no idea where I could take it to get it weighed - who would have a scale like that I could use?

My EDC and it's predecessor:

My album notes say the white bonded ivory stocks come from Pachmayr. I have no present recollection of where I obtained them. eBay is likely. The wood stocks were on that Model 64 and I have no idea at all of their origin.

Do you not find the stocks without checkering slip in your hands more? I love the way the white looks. I tried some smooth ones on my airweight and it slips. Obviously that's a lot lighter and the heavier weight might make that not a problem with the steel K frame. I just like to keep a gun put under recoil if I can. So I don't have to regrip after every shot.

I bought a postal scale when we were building the little pinewood derby cars for my kids. Now everything gun related goes on there. LOL.

Well, I guess I need a postal scale!

Those smooth stocks are fine, especially with a T-grip on there. I imagine if my hands were wet the stocks would be slippery but I think I would have to be in a gunfight in the rain to find out. ;)

And I carry the customized Model 64 far more frequently than the Model 10.

Mod 10 (sorry don't recall the - number) that came with the gold inlay and the box. Original Magna grips with Tyler T.

Above Model 10 with a Model 64-4. Original Magna grips with Tyler T. Came with the box and a sweet pair of original combat grips that have been reassigned.

Above Model 64-4.

A Model 64-4 with non-original Magna grips. Was a California Dept of Corrections trade in.

A Model 64-6 with factory bobbed hammer and DAO. Ahrends grips. Brinks trade in model that was then sent to S&W for the Combat Action Package.

I don't have official weights but figure they are in the ball park of what the others have posted.

the extra 3.3 ounces is the difference between the S&W wooden grips and the Pachmyar rubber grips........the Pachmeyar grips are not shown in the picture......the Pachmyar grips are heavier....

I really feel like it might be too heavy for me to carry every day..... It may be too big anyways... My j frame feels like just right, but I'd really rather have a steel frame to soak up the recoil. Whether or not that extra round is such a big deal, I don't know. It FEELS like a big deal. LOL. 6 seems so much better than 5.
