CNN has just reporting that Tina Turner has passed away at age 83. What a loss to the music world. I don't know good her singing was, but that Lady could dance:D. I'm sure that Rusty can give all of us the inside deal.

Tina, may you rest in peace.

I was/am a big fan. She was a powerhouse. She had pipes that belied her small frame. She also had enough control of her "rasp on demand" that she didn't blow out her vocal cords. She was the draw not Ike.

I met Ike for a quick minute at a trade show in Anaheim.

I will leave my thoughts on Ike in my lock box.

I attended one of her concerts a few years back. IMO, no one could top her performances. I was truly overwhelmed. My wife said she'd try to get Tina to sing at my funeral, and I told her I'd prefer Tina danced on my coffin!

Rest in peace, Tina, you were truly "Simply the best!"

She was without equal, IMHO. She was just getting popular about the time I really started listening to music and her music had a big impact on me. From Proud Mary, through the Acid Queen, to her performance as Aunty Entity in Thunderdome, I have so many great memories of her. R.I.P. Anna Mae.

Coincidentally, night before last I watched her perform as the Acid Queen in Tommy, The Who’s 1975 rock opera. Incredible talent. Awesome legs. RIP Tina

I defy anyone, alone in their car, listening to Tina with the volume cranked up, to do so without singing along or drumming on their steering wheel and getting the vehicle rocking. A tremendously talented performer whose voic and music will last for eons. May she Rest In Peace.
