I ordered a K6XS and was told it had arrived. When I got there..Jesse puts the Kimber on the counter. He then grabs a S&W box and puts it down in front of me. He knows I like Smiths.

Turns out to be a 3" heavy barrel model 10. Looks to be unfired in original box. Grips aren't numbered but I'm not sure if they were still numbering by this time frame. Fit is perfect.

Can't find a thing wrong with it and he tells me $600. Sold.

Only thing better than one new 6 shooter is two. :)

Kimber is still making K6's, S&W ain't making Model 10's like that one. I'd have dropped the Kimber in favor of that old S&W too.

Excellent score and great price. I’ve had this 10-8 for -15 years.

I bought both. Interestingly, they were priced the same.

Was the 10-8 new, old stock or someone brought it in on consignment? It looks unfired to me too. So was it a nightstand gun or part of a vast Gun Collection that the owner never got around to shooting? It has a great story.

I would shoot the 10-8 sparingly and use the K6xs as a carry gun. I really like my K6xs.

It came in the shop by a widow who wanted to "dispose" of two revolvers. One was the 10-8 and the other was a 66-1, 6" barrel wearing presentation grips. The 10-8 does looks to be unfired while the 66-1 has some useage wear visible.Nothing bad..but Jesse priced the 66-1 at $950 (no box) so that was a pass for me.Nothing special about the 66 and I believe the grips are not original.

Nice find and congrats!

How do you like the Kimber for fit and finish? I've read mostly positive things, seen some negative ones... but no different then any other manufacturers, I suppose.

From pics, they seem nice. Do like 6 rounds in a nice size.

Just curious, thanks.

Straight up? Older Smith's win every time in my book. Getting the Smith and the Kimber, well you should have just stopped at a quick trip and purchased a few lottery tickets as well. I'm pretty sure you would be a winner!
