I have the same gun, except in its blued finish. You will be very surprised at its function!!

I had one of those way back when .380 was cheap. It's a great little pistol. It's exactly the size I wanted, and if they made that same sized gun in 9mm, I would go broke buying them. One of the best balanced pistols out there, in my opinion.

Love my Beretta! I own the slightly larger brother, 92FS. Smith and Beretta's are the only pistols in my collection.

My wife and I both have one of those 85FS(s). Her's is about 20 years old; mines is a couple of years old. She loves hers and I liked it so much I got one. Mine has become my carry gun. I have decided it is not so much what you carry, but where you can place your shots.

It's funny, but there must be something different in the design between the two. Her's will easily rack with the hammer down. Mine is really hard. Swapped the recoil springs and her's stayed easy and mine stayed hard. Have heard this from others too.

Have a lot of handguns, but love my SW 1911, Browning BDM, and the Beretta .380.

The Beretta Cheetah is not a pocket 380, but may be the best 380 out there. I think you will like it.

I came real close to trading for one of these a while back and I wish I would have. I don't currently have any Berettas but I used to have a 96G (.40SW, decock only) that was absolutely the best feeling gun I've ever held. Trading that one was one of the bigger mistakes I've made

Beretta Cheetah and Browning BDA

That Beretta, and also the Browning BDA, are two of the all time great compact pistols. I like them a lot better that the Walther PPK.

Since Browning doesn't make any compact 9mm's (a compact Hi-Power would be very sweet) - I'm surprised they don't resurrect the BDA and make them in Belgium or the U.S.

With all of the interest in CCW and with the better .380 ammo available, these guns are just going to increase in interest. Fortunately there is a decent supply of LNIB and NIB BDA's on the various on-line sites, and to Beretta's immense credit, they are in current production of Cheetah's.

The Beretta 85's are awesome little guns that just seem to have the perfect balance of balance (a real Yogi Berryism there), quality, shoot-ability, and size. And importantly, beautiful, sexy, Italian design. Minimalism at it's finest!

Our friends at S&W, who have got to at least be occasionally looking this way, should really think about putting out a refined CS9 in scandium frame, or an even more compact 3913NL type pistol. They are really missing the boat on a big part of the market!

Since I don't really care for polymer framed guns, except for maybe one for glovebox duty, et. al., (like a Ruger SR9c) I'll be buying NIB/LNIB 3rd gens, Kimbers, BDA's Beretta's, and similar guns when adding to my compact gun collection. The only currently manufactured S&W gun that I really want is the 1911 Sc compact version, and it's in .45 only. (and $1200 list).

I'm a big S&W fan, but I definitely plan to buy a new Beretta 85 in the near future. I don't plan to buy a M&P compact, nor would I buy a plastic .380 BG.

I bought a Beretta 86, .380 last year. Great gun.Shoots everything and shoots very straight. Love the tip-up barrel. I have 3 other .380s, Bersa Thunder, Beretta 70s and a Sig 232. All are very good but I personally think the 86 is the best.
