Of course you were doing better, you were using a Smith and Wesson revolver!!
Fun to see how they react when they go ''pop'' and you go ''BOOM''.Kinda makes you feel like''WOW''.

I borrowed my dad's Model 57 last year for deer season and right before deer season I was at the range getting it sighted in. Apparently people look at you like you're crazy when you shoot a revolver better at 50 yards than they do their deer rifle.
It's got a scope on it, it's not that hard. I shot 50 yards with my 4" Model 28 first to make sure I could do it.

I've had a couple people tap me on the shoulder and ask what the hell I'm shooting. I think I've converted a couple people.![]()
Alton, my next-door neighbor bachelor friend who is in his late 20's enjoys guns. His are mostly black guns, but he also has a collection of World War II rifles. His handguns are all semi-autos and until he met me, he'd never ever fired a revolver. So out on my patio, I gave him a small talk about why I love a fine double-action revolver. He began to appreciate the deep black mirror finish, the craftsmanship, the workings of a S&W revolver.
A few days later, we went to the range and Alton was shooting his favorite DA/SA 9mm semi-auto. We were shooting 6" steel plates at 15 yards. Finally, I had Alton shoot my 6" 19-3 Combat Magnum. The 19 was loaded up with standard velocity .38 Specials. I told Alton to shoot the plates double-action at the same speed he shoots his 9mm. Alton dropped all six plates. Alton ejected the spent brass, looked down at the revolver and said, "John, now I get it. I get why you love your revolvers."
My S&W revolvers are:
4th Model "Pocket Gun" in .32 S&W
34-1 "Kit Gun" in .22 LR
15-4 "Combat Masterpiece" in .38 Special
19-3 "Combat Magnum" in .357 Magnum
625-9 "Mountain Gun" in .45 Colt
