Most likely.
However, in those days, as we explored the outer vestiges of our minds, we (the majority of us... I think...) refrained from walking around looking like zombies stapled together with a hardware selection from the jewelry counter at Wal-Mart. Nor did many of us look like we'd survived a near death inking snafu with the presses at Marvel Comics.
We may have skewed our brains, but on a good day, it wasn't noticeable.
