For hunting small game and yotes' I use Velociters now.

But for plinking, what do you all use?

So far I have personally used the Federal bulk pack, had a few hiccups with those, but nothing serious... and the CCI AR Tactical which ran great even with the grease film on them.

How do the Mini-Mags hold up? I've yet to shoot any.

Aquila Super Extra HV

I have found Aguila Super Extra HV Ammunition 22 Long Rifle 40 Grain Plated Lead Round Nose to be economical, available, consistently accurate and essentially trouble free.

General plinking, Winchester solid point CPs. Or sometimes American Eagle, but I've decided the stuff is too dirty and I stopped buying it.

I shoot some CCI stuff for other purposes.

The Federal 510B Were $1.47 @ Walmart I think they are up to $1.97 or so now I have tons of them 15-22 likes them as well as almost every other .22 I have

99 percent of my shooting is with Federal Champions. The other one percent is CCI Tactical.

For plinking? Cost effective Federal Champion 555ct. boxes...but they aren't as accurate as other choices.

CCI Mini Mags work very well, but cost a little more around my neck of the woods.

I've found all Federal ammo to run well in my M&P15-22 even their cheap bulk stuff. But my rifle is extremely accurate with their 40grn copper plated 710s. I was so impressed with this ammunition I bought 2 5000 round cases of it, that should last awhile.

Federal 550
Federal Lightning
Winchester 555

My local walmart stocks all 3 and I but them in that order depending on what is on the shelf

For suppressed plinking I use CCI Standard Velocity. Otherwise, I use cheap bulk pack. I can usually find Fed bulk the cheapest. Dunn's has Fed bulk 10 x 525 for $169.00 delivered and they recently put up 10 x 525 CCI Blazer $189.00 delivered or 100 x 50 for $179.

Can't beat Federal Auto Match, CCI Blazer or Federal Red Box. The Auto Match works very well in all 3 of my Model 17/22 revolvers, great ejection out of those tight cylinders.

Federal 36gr "hollowpoint" bulk in the 550 round packs from Walmart. Over 13,000 rounds so far.

Blazer or Fed champion whichever I have on hand from purchasing when either is on sale.

I use CCI Standard Velocity exclusively in my steel guns (S&W Model 41, Browning Buckmark, and Magnum Research 10/22). I use CCI AR in my scoped (target) Magnum Research. Federal bulk pack works well in most anything and is accurate. I used it in a Sig 522 (which I traded) and my Henry lever action .22.

It must be a thing with S&W .22s - tight charge holes in the cylinders. My M34 is the same way. It does not like to let go of CCI ammo.

I'm jealous that you have THREE M17s!!!
