What a difference a year makes.

We’re pushing 60 deg. today. Unbelievable! Drove over the Big Horns on Tuesday. There’s maybe 6” of patchy snow on top - gonna be a dry summer if things don’t get goin’ up there. We were out in the Big Horn Basin on Wed. and drove up to a place called Fenton Pass. Most years you couldn’t get there at all by this time of year. We had no problem. It was mostly just dry dirt as you can see below. Nice view, though!

My plan this afternoon was to go to a series of fields close by and photograph and just observe short eared owls and northern harriers in their inflight antics. The temperature is very pleasant (40ish), but it started to rain hard a while ago. Snow would have been much more favorable. Not a complaint. Just an observation.
By the way, it's not unusual for 40s in late December here, but it does give the climate alarmists ammo for their agenda.

Back in late 70’s- early 80’s friend and I had a firewood business. I had the trees and he had a splitter on back of John Deere and stake bed truck. We cut our own wood and sold several loads, not worth it. These days one can buy a “ machine” that does everything as long as you feed in logs.
