We went out into the hall at school. One time I "duck and covered" in the wall recess under the water fountain. Getting back up was a big 'ol noggin knocking " don't do THAT again" memory

The big boomer had a range of 20 miles as we were taught in Artillery repair school at Aberdeen in 1959. We took the 280 apart and put it back together again to learn how to repair them. Big overhead cranes.

No, the Davy Crockett was not shoulder fired. It was mounted alternately on a tripod or an M-151 1/4 ton truck (jeep). It had a range of only 2-2 1/2 miles! Here is a photo stolen from the 'net:
