Ok, I have an M&P9 shield 1.0 while I don't mind the trigger I have had the chance to shoot a 2.0 and an Plus. Much better triggers on both.

As I read and has been suggested to me to change the trigger on my 1.0.
Reading the Apex site there are so many choices of kits from triggers only to full scale rebuilds of trigger, springs and sear.
In the words of "Vinnie Barbarino, I am so confused."

So, what kit should I be using. From some of the cost I've seen in kits they are a third to half the cost of a 2.0 or Plus.
Unless I'm reading too much into it.

I installed the complete duty/carry kit on mine and it is great. I much prefer a flat faced trigger. i put the full kit into my M&P 2.0 Compact as well and it is a wonderful setup.

Out of curiosity, what w is the kit no. That you used?

Ron Theres a number of ways to improve your pistol . You could get by with a striker black kit if your trigger is ok and end up with a lighter smoother 4.5lb trigger than radius slighgtly the contact high points between the connect the striker block and the sear and lower the weight a bit more OR do a FST kit and you could end up with a mid 2lb trigger pull . I like the apex curved trigger over the straight !! so many parts to swamp to improve the trigger . WE have 5m&p's 3 early models and 2 2.0 models one is a 4" compact with or & ts and one 5" PC and only one is stock do to not having a thumb safety but its good trigger too , old style 2.0 .

The hard sear is the only mod I've made to my Gen1 and that's all I needed.

I installed the full Duty Carry kit in my Gen 1 Shield. Made a huge difference. Good take up, smooth, crisp. It really changed the gun. I also installed the kit in my M&P 2.0; better than stock but not as much difference as the Shield kit.

Another vote for the Apex Carry/Duty kit. It made a huge improvement in my 1.0 9mm Shield.

Another issue I had with my 1.0 9mm Shield was that the opening in the frame for the trigger to come through had not been cut or cleaned up properly. The trigger was actually pinched between the sides of the frame opening and the trigger was dragging horribly. I discovered the problem when I tried to pull the trigger assembly out of the frame to install the Apex kit. A couple minutes with an X-Acto knife got the frame trigger opening opened up properly.

This is of interest to me. As I have a 9mm 1.0 shield and 2.0 3.6” 9C.

Both stock triggers.

My goal is to set them both up to be as identical as they can be. What trigger parts or kit would I need to make the shield close to the stock 2.0 9c?

I may also get at least one mag guts +2 kit for my 8 round mag.

I am starting to wonder if it would be cheaper to just sell my 1.0 shield and buy a new 2.0 shield plus.

I love my 9c but with 15+1 it is a tank to carry. Wonder how much lighter the shield plus is with 13+1 rounds would be.

Don't discount the apex trigger as well. I installed one on a whim and found it to be an improvement over the stock hinged trigger. Now all my M&Ps have them.

I faced the same choice. Bought a Shield Plus & kept the 1.0 as a backup rather than sell/trade it for peanut$. They weigh about the same. Found I shoot the Plus noticeably better with its GOOD trigger.

I might consider a shield plus if they came out with one in 45 acp.

If I were to replace my 9c, I would want something with a rail for the ability to install a light or laser. So that would put me in an equalizer. With the ability to still carry 15 if desired. Or lighten the load with the lower capacity mags which is probably what ai would do.

Just not sure I like the grip safety or the grip angle. But love the trigger of the equalizer!
