What are some other words, terms that mean Revolver?

Yep, revolver specific. Most of the others -- "roscoe," "piece," etc., could apply to either revolvers or self-loaders.

Writing a book, and tired of using the word "revolver"?

I know you already said six-shooter, but since no one else has said it, I'll suggest the slight variation on that theme of "six-gun".

Most of the really good synonyms for revolver seem to relate best to the pre-WWI era-ish. Hog leg and smoke wagon sound good to me, although I always envisioned smoke wagon as being a cap-and-ball black powder type. Other names which are best-suited to an "older" era might be ".36, .38, .44/.44 Russian, .45, .45 Colt or Colt's Equalizer". Also, if you're looking at old-west era, you can always just reference the manufacturer, "He drew his Colt/S&W/Remington/Merwin-Hulbert", etc.

One last idea...it's my own concoction: "lead-spinner". Yeah, kinda hokey, I know. Also, it almost sounds more like some kind of fishing accessory.
