I'm getting a 910 this coming weekend. The price was right and I just happen to have a budget for a new inexpensive toy.

From what I know, it's remake of 915 which is the budget line of 3rd gen 59xx series. Stock mag holds 10rd but will take 59xx series mags.

So from the 910 owners, I would like to know the personal experience you have with your 910 pistol. How's the trigger? How's the fit and finish? Do you have trouble finding parts? Is it easy to detail strip? Does S&W still service them?

Thanks.

It's a full size. I use 15 rnd mags. Great Gun for duty or CCW. Alot lighter than the 59xx. Doubt if you will need parts but they are out there. I think they stopped making it in 08. I could carry and use anything I want but I love my 910. The only bad thing is the finish doesn't hold up to holster wear. But then again, the bad guy doesn't care how pretty the gun is when he's shot. I have no problems with the trigger. It took top gun in requal class for peace officer certification.
Hope this helps.,sixthsense

I have two 10 rounds magazines. Great gun. I bought mine used and do not regret it. Nice shooter. Never a single problem - goes bang every time. Easy takedown and cleaning. I am real happy with mine and will never sell it.

Don't have the 910, but do have its single stack brother the 909. Its at S&W right now getting an ambi safety put on it since I'm left handed. Other than being a single stack, its the same gun, an am very pleased with it.

Didn't even know they make 909. I have hear of 908 and always want a single stack S&W (ie: 39).

I picked up a couple of 915s earlier in the year and when I was researching those I remember reading that the 910 was the same as the 915 except the sights were cheaper plastic......

The 909 was the value series version of the 3904/3906 with an alloy frame and the other features of the 910/410. The same 4" barrel, just a 9rd mag instead of a 15rd mag (well, what it was originally designed for.

Just think if an elephant sat on a 910 and made it a single stack :D

More than the sights were plastic with the change from the 915/411 to the 910/410. A search for "915 vs 910" should list the major differences.

I have had my 910 since 1998 bought new, ca mags 10 rd. I have put 2 thousand rounds through it. winchester federal rem. mostly fmj but a couple hundred rem. golden saber jhp Not one fte but one ftf pretty sure it was the round. It's as accurate as I am. Can you tell I love my 910!

If the finish is like that on my 908 (and I suspect it is), it is thin indeed and does not wear well. However, I liked the pistol so much I sent it to Robar and had it redone, spending more on refinishing than the pistol cost I liked it so much. I suspect you have a gun that will provide service, finish or no finish, for many years to come.

You don't even need to search. Go to the top of the main semi-auto page and click on the sticky for notable threads. In it there's a link to the 910 v 915 thread.

Mine has a Crimson Trace grip on it to give it more of a curved grip like a Model 39 instead of the straight factory grip, and has shot everything I've fed it with no issues.

I've shot MANY thousands of rounds through mine with no problems. I use mine in IDPA SSP class. It even works fine with some really cheap mags that I bought many years ago. I put a Hogue rubber grip on mine and a fiber optic front sight (Made by Hi-Viz---about $20. The sight is plastic but it's held up just fine.)

Think of it as an economy version of the 5906. Various cost-cutting measures were taken to reduce the price. Field stripping is the same as any other 3rd Gen. Detail stripping (i.e. taking the entire pistol apart) is not required under normal circumstances.

It uses 5900 Series magazines and the rest is pretty much like the 5906.

Nice economy pistol.

I picked one up real cheap at a pawn shop a few months ago. The finish is good for blind folk but it shoots straight and is lightweight. I use it as a truck gun as I don't have to worry about messing it up. My wife loves to shoot it. Since I own alot of of 59xx pistols I have no shortage of mags for it.

I don't have a 910 but I do have it's cousin the .40 cal 411. I like it alot.

Bought a NIB 915 about twelve years ago. It must have been an transition pistol. The frame is marked 915, but it came with the plastic sights and guide rod and two ten round mags. Still, I liked it enough to buy a like new 411. Would like to find grips for the 915 with curved backstrap like the 411 has on them. They are good pistols.
