Since I only got one choice, .45acp as that's what I carry most often.

However, when the mood strikes or under certian circumstances, I have been know to carry.............

.25acp
.380acp
.38 Super
.38 Special
.357 Magnum
.44 Special
.45 Colt

I just don't think any one answer is gonna work.

I always carry my .22 Mag NAA as a last resort gun. I'll also carry an M&P Bodyguard .380, 642 .38 Special, or a full-sized XD45, depending on the situation. I chose .45acp because that's my preferred cartridge.

As far as the brand, I use Hornaday Critical Defense in .380 and .38 Special, Hornaday VMAX in .22 Mag, and Winchester PDX1 Defender in .45acp.

So many niche cartridges listed, but not .380? I think this poll could be pared down to 9-10 cartridges and an "Other" option.

It also needs to allow multiple choices. My carry gun most of the time is .45 ACP, but is when that gun is too big, it's .38 +P. I still haven't voted because I frankly don't know which to vote for--the .45 is my first choice, but the .38 is my "always" gun.

.45 with SXT 230 grainers in my duty weapon and 9mm 127 grain SXT in my off duty gun.

I am not old enough yet to carry but still wanted to be apart of the thread lol so I voted .45acp currently using Remington 230gr Sabres since that is what my HD weapon is. My girlfriend uses a .32 s&w with 88gr solids.

I voted for what I carry almost all the time .45acp but have been known to carry a .380, 9X18, 9X19, 40S&W. Surprising to me at this time I would have thought 9 Parabellum would have the most votes.

For me, it used to be 9mm. Now it's .38 Special +P.

Voted for 38spl+p because that's what I'm carrying today. Could change tomorrow.

I was reading somewhere that .380 was the most popular pistol manufactured, near equaling all revolver calibers combined.

It's like polling v twin motorcycle riders and not listing Harley. :D

LCP/642. 80/20.

Ruger LCR .357 w/ Rem Golden Saber 158 gr .38 SPL +P when I wear shorts and a tee. For more dressy occasions, M&P 45C with Federal 230gr HST ammo.

I personally like the 10mm. I can convert to .40 if I have to or to train. Things don't generally ask to be shot multiple times with it and the shells are easy to find in grass as opposed to 9mm or .380. I also enjoy .45 LC because the power is there and the shells are easy to handle/pick up. .38/.357 gets a strong nod because it's easy to carry a lot of speedloaders in a pocket for a J frame, training/power interchangeability, and the shells are again easy to find in the grass. I shoot a lot in grassy places and enjoy reloading spent brass so bigger is better and easier to fully account for.

Put me in the needed to select more than one option 38 spl, 38 +p, .357 mag and 40 S&W depending

Duty ammo is Federal 158 grain .357 Magnum HydraShok in 4 inch S&W Model 686. Backup ammo is Buffalo Bore 158 grain .38 Special LSWCHP-GS standard pressure in S&W Model 37. Off duty primary carry is Speer 135 grain .357 Magnum Gold Dot "Short Barrel" in 3 inch Model 13.

I did not vote since I use the...........

135 GD in the 38 spl. snub nose J frame.

125gr GD in my 6" 686 L frame 357 Magnum.

115gr +P+ in my 4" or longer 9mm
147gr std. HTS in my 3" or longer 9mm's.

"Heads or Tails"................
