What constitutes an "Arsenal"

The other side will always use words to scare the low information voters in this country.
Black gun = military style assault weapon
30 round mag = high capacity magazine
couple of guns and 100 rounds = arsenal.

It will be a long uphill battle to educate the uneducated who believe the scary words and hype from mainstream media.

Lets Roll

Same thing as when every long gun, even a single shot .22 was label as an AK-47 be the media.

I hope I never make the news, they'll have to invent a new word/combination of words...

Decades ago, a lady friend of mine was talking about this subject, and I said, "What about me?" She replied, "But you collect, you don't just hoard weapons." I remained silent. Of couse, that was before the accident. Now, I am considering a BB gun for self-defense.

Since all mine fell down the mine shaft in that Jeep accident I've been carrying a long stick does that mean I have an arsenal? I also have a bunch of rocks in the floor of the pickup that I could throw at something if I was attacked. I have more than one stick plus all the rocks, does that mean that I am being watched now?

Now you guys have me worried I guess I need to go bury all these rocks and hide the sticks.

News stories out today say Adam Lanza's house had an "arsenal" of guns and ammo. What constitutes an "arsenal"? 2 guns, 5 guns, 10 guns, amount of ammo, etc? I really could not find anything on the WWW that adequately defines an "Arsenal"
What constitutes an arsenal is whether or not one has a manufacturing capacity to produce firearms- the media misused the word arsenal to mean a "s**tload" but in reality it wasn't a s**tload but perhaps a "selection". Now some of out members here would have a s**tload of guns and ammo-but what they list in this goober's house hardly qualifies.

I'm looking forward to next summer as my nephew is marrying a nice little girl from Long Island. I will be up there for the wedding weekend "undercover" wearing my searsucker suit and bow tie at the cocktail parties and expect to lob quite a few "bombs" amongst the upper east elite :D
"I say Fawnnnnnsworth I see nothing wrong with owning firearms as long as they're kept away from the help-would you please pass them taters???"

Clearly, if you have at least 1 WMD (in black of course) you have an arsenal.

A fun fact....When used by the media to quantify one's personal cache of weaponry to further promote their anti-gun agenda, the root of the word "arsenal" becomes "arse" which coincidentally perfectly describes these leftwing writers.

I refer to my "modest accumulation." After hanging around here and another somewhat less civilized site i've decided I have "a couple of guns and a few boxes of ammo."

Some of the stashes I've seen are breathtaking. Feinstein would pass bricks!:D

It seems to me that on the basis of need, the minimum would a pocket pistol,a 1911 or N frame for open carry,a squirrel 22,a bird gun,a turkey and duck gun and if possible a Bar-B-Que gun with hundreds of rounds in each caliber gauge and shot size. And of course you would wish for more .No way that's an arsenal .

Well according to my local news a home with over 10 knives some with blades almost a foot long, a .303 Enfield, a Savage MKII .22 and and a starter pistol along with having over 1000 rounds of ammo is a "Huge Arsenal".

I looked around my kitchen, yup got the knives covered. Checked the safe oh yeah I'm in trouble there. Darn I found some Federal .22 LR bulk packs a few weeks ago at a decent price and bought two boxes; so the ammo is covered even if I don't count the cabinet full for everything else and flats of shotgun shells. I wonder how they would describe a little black powder and cannon fuse for my small .58 cal. Mountain Howitzer on the news.

Me thinks maybe the news and authorities have an agenda.

Stupid media, they just blow up the balloon so it sounds like outrageous...

I've heard he had 2 handguns, a rifle, a shotgun and his mother had given him a check for the next gun purchase...

And 100's of rounds... HUNDRED'S!! He made it sound like A.L. had just bought 1 ton of plutonium...

It's so ridiculous....

It sounds like he had a complete brick of 22 ammo!

I have more guns than I have hands, does that mean I have an arsenal? :p
