Well, how about two of 'em:cool:

My Postman brought me the #71 gun today. I imagine these two could have both been built the same day being only 31 digits apart.

I sure am liking these transitional guns...Going to be on the lookout for a 4566 now

Might have to start working on my dual wielding skills too:rolleyes: ;)

Cheers

First thing I noticed: spurless hammer on your original one!

Was that some of your customizing, Bill, or was it made that way to begin with?

Yup, that was my doin'. Even given the generous tang on those grip frames, I still get hammer bite. So my sole remaining NOS spurless hammer goes on the new gun. The #71 gun will also get an updated ejector, an R1 sideplate, and a few internal+exterior enhancements just like the #40 gun.

Cheers

Looks like #40 also enjoys the wider, 2nd gen trigger.

Will #71 also be sharing that joy?

Old "big ears" is the best adjustable sight ever designed for a combat pistol.

Trigger?... Yes, if I can source another NOS 2nd gen trigger I'll swap it out. I much prefer the feel of the wider trigger.

Sight?... I Couldn't agree more about the backsight. Yeah those sights elicit some strong opinions but... Show me any other adjustable pistol sight than can survive being dropped on concrete from a couple meters and not be rendered utterly useless if not completely destroyed.

Even more betterer with an illuminated slide installed:cool:

Yes yes, there's a tritium front out there on the pointy end too

Looks good to me. The 5606 (should be 4506) is my favorite 45ACP handgun. Here is what mine looked like - before the boating accident. Have to remember to not post so late at night!:-)

Gotta love the transitional 4506s. Very good looking 3rd Gens, and scarce too.

This one has a "TEP" prefix (sorry about the blurry pic).

Hmmmmmmm.......I lost count.......not a fan here! I do see them in LGS's cheaply priced at times. May pick one up to use as trade fodder!
