What did the 645 come with in 1987?

I'm hoping someone here who bought a 1987 production 645 new and still has it could perhaps take a photo of everything that came with it - paperwork, style of mags, other accessories etc. I recently bought a 1987 645 that comes with the original box, one mag but nothing else and am going to try to compile the missing paperwork and accessories to form a complete package. Thank you.

This paperwork came with mine in 1988. The tool kit is not shown, its long gone. The original black plastic grips are in the baggie.

Mine shipped in 1985, but I bought it new in 1987. I'll get you some pics shortly.

I have the box and the 645 info sheet, but nothing else now. The tag says it came with one 8 round magazine and cost $550.50

I have one from a little later

How about one that shipped May 1, 1986? Mine is NIB with everything from the factory. I took photos of every piece of paperwork.

Thank you very much everyone. I won a box, paperwork and original packing materials for a 1986 645 at auction, but I think the cleaning tools and at least one piece of paperwork are missing. I won't need the box so I may resell it here to someone else in need of an unmatching 645 box. The more detailed the photos you can provide the better and are MUCH appreciated. And Ben-Kenobi, yes photos of yours would be great.

I purchased this in 1987. This has more paperwork than any other S&W I can remember ever purchasing.
the last photo is in my next post.

Why sell the box if it matches the gun? Why would someone want an unmatched cardboard box? Not worth the $25 you might get for it but enhances the value of a 35 year old gun should you ever sell it.

I think there are actually two boxes.

One matching with the 645 but missing some "stuff." A second one was obtained to maybe/hopefully fill in the missing "pieces" that the 645 originally came with. Now the empty mismatched box isn't needed. I get it.

I can't understand why anyone would buy a mismatched box either but they actually easily sell. I've seen some boxes with labels strategically scratched out, can't see the serial number. Kinda like the cheap PC aluminum cases selling for $250-$350 with NO label, (no shipping box,) referencing what it originally was for.

This is exactly correct, thank you Jim. And thank you everyone for your feedback and insightful photos. Once my purchases start arriving I'll know what further questions I may have, for all I know there might be hidden paperwork at the bottom of either box, or an undocumented cleaning kit stuffed in a corner.

Ah. Misunderstood. If there are two boxes than I'd sell the mismatched one and keep the original. And if there are people out there willing to buy a cardboard box for $250 then I'd surely sell it. Insane to think those people exist, though.

Did the 2nd Gen guns ship with cleaning kits? Didn't know that.

Does your box have " a BANGOR PUNTA Company " on the lower right front box edge?

Time for more photos

Here's the Safety and Instructional Materials booklet.

Thank you for all of the photos. My 645 and the other items I've bought are starting to arrive so I'll know soon enough what else I may need.

Thanks again everyone. Here is what I have pieced together so far. It seems I am missing the warranty card, hunting booklet, additional "Safety and Instructional Materials for your Smith & Wesson firearm" booklet, and cleaning kit.
