After qualifying a retired officer, I shot a bunch of .38 Special through my S&W 642 (test fire after installing the "plug") and Ruger Blackhawk (test firing a new acquisition). I didn't have any .357 Mag loaded up for the Blackhawk.

Cleaned and deprimed all the .38 Special I shot, and about 100 cases of .357 for loads to be shot in the Blackhawk.

I shot my mouth off and reloaded my gullet at Olive Garden with friends at a birthday get together. :)

Shot a falling plate match yesterday with my S&W 1911, shooting the following recipe and they worked very well. Found this load is pretty accurate, but fairly dirty with the low charge or the Unique.

230gr Berry's plated
6.0gr. of Unique
CCI LP Primers
Remington Cases
1.265" OAL
.471" Crimp

Shot about 60 more rounds of the above reloadsd this weekend. Found it is still very accurate. Also shot some of my father-in-law's reloads with 230gr RN cast bullets, with 6.0gr of Unique as well, found they were accurate as well, but hit about 2" inches lower at 10 yards.

I loaded some Hornaday HBWC 148gr with bullseye. Taking dear old Mom out to the range this coming weekend and at her age the nice light wadcutters are a pleasure to shoot.

Today I loaded up a bunch of 30-06 ammo for the Garand.

CCI NATO primers
46.4gr H4895
150gr pulled military bullets

I like doing comparisons. Today I loaded some .45 AR with three
different weight cast bullets and Bullseye powder. Shot a few groups
with two different guns, my S&W 25-2 4", cut from the original 6 1/2"
length and my 1937 Brazilian. Both guns shot better groups with 250gr
RNFP bullets than with lighter weight SWCs and the old Brazilian
proved to be the equal of the 25-2.

As the rain and snow continue here in the great northwet, its reloading time. Today I load 660 38 Special, LSWC, LRN, DEWC and HBWC.

Tomorrow, 44 Special is next up, followed by 44 Magnum.

After that 30-06 for my M1

About 50 rounds for the AR-15. Went to the Indy gun show and got 8lbs of WC846. Two bullets, 55gr pulldowns and 69gr HPBT Noslers.

This powder loads like BLC-(2) and I am really excited to try it out. I have quite a few other calibers that it would work well for too. The plus side, it was $90 for that 8lbs! If I can get it to shoot well, my rifle rounds will be cut in half cost wise. Now that will be cool.

Rolled 400 38spl. with 158 LSWC over 3.5 Bullseye to get started with Win SP primers.

I started last night

I loaded some 30+ rnds of 45-70 for my 1873 trapdoor and deprimed ,sized and trimmed 100 cases of 30-06 winchester brass. And today I primed and loaded every last one. Getting ready to hit the range in two weeks.

Sat. evening shot 50 rounds through my 629 & 100 rounds through my 4" 34. Been casting for the last 2 weeks in my spare time. The coffee cans are filling up with 250 gr. 44's/230 gr. 45's and 168 gr. 357's. Loaded 57 rds. of 10mm tonight. I shoot on my personal property every weekend and sometimes off the back deck during the week.

Last night I loaded up a starter load of 38 Special for my father to shoot in his S&W 686. First time I have reloaded 38's
Used:
Federal Nickel +P cases
155gr. LSWC *with gas check (cast by my father-in-law)
4.0gr. of Unique
CCI#500 Small Pistol Primers

I think my father will notice a significant reduction in recoil, compared to the 158gr. factory 357 Magnums he has been shooting.

**04/14/12 My father took above test load out and they felt like .22lr coming out of his S&W 686 with 6" barrel. He managed to have about a 6" group from 10 yards with 12 rounds, and the majority of the rounds being in a 3" group. He had a couple fliers as he hasn't shot the gun much lately, and getting used to the recoil (or lack there of).

Will be leaving work shortly (I feel the flu coming) to pick up and then shoot my 2nd purchase. Model 29. Have 44 mag and will buy some 44 special to compare.

I went to the range yesterday and shot my Ruger 44 Stainless 4 5/8s Special with a load of 255 Keiths sized to .431 sitting on a load of 14.5 grains of 2400 and a CCI 300 primer. This thumbuster loves this load and I am assisting in fulfilling it's love as I am loading 200 of this load today. The brass is polishing as I write this.

Shooting off hand with this load the Ruger will put them all in one hole at 50ft and a group of an inch and a half. The group would tighten if I were a better shooter, that potential is in the load and the mechanicals of the gun.
