I've got a single shot, top break, .22
It's a S&W says model 01 on the barrel.
But I can't find any info on it.
Thanks

Take another look at the barrel...it should be stamped "Model of 91". If the stamp is weak or the barrel poorly refinished, the 9 could be read as a 0. You stated it is a single shot, top break .22. That is not a Model 1. The Model 1 is a 7-shot tip-up revolver.

A few pictures would be very beneficial. There were three versions of the Model 91. If you could provide pictures and the serial number of the gun, more specific information could be provided to you. The serial number is located on the butt of the frame.

If it was made as a single shot or a revolver with target grips, the serial number would be on the front of the grip frame. Smaller and harder to see numbers should be on the underside of the barrel latch and the rear of the barrel under the latch.
Enjoy!
