What do you buy a homeless veteran for lunch?

GatorFarmer, I'm talking about poser's. I've asked a few of them holding homeless Viet Nam veteran signs questions a military vet would know the answers to. All I got was alot of eh's and huh's. Give your money to whoever you want to. Like I said, I help fellow vets at the post and VA hospital. And what do you know about serving. Don't lecture me about what I should do.

ditto I had a young guy approach me at a rest area once, claiming to be a airborne ranger vet suffering hard times, looking for a handout, when I asked how many PLF's he had he had no ideal what I was talking about, so I asked how tall the high towers were at the airborne school at fort knox, he said they were 100 ft.

Most of the time i talk to them they have enough food bank food. Hot meals are always appreciated though. Pain meds are short on hand. Clothing they usually got. Not sure if their stories are always true but its worth a listen anyways. People having a hard time typically dont have many opportunities to express whats going on in their lives to open ears.

Sorry, but have you looked at those 35-40 years looking for handouts on highway rams holding up Vietnam Vet cardboard signs?

Way too many fake vets out there....been to DC lately??

I see alot of ""Reproduction vets"" here too. MOstly its easy to tell if they are genuine or not by by asking certain things I already know about--had Sarge Bill as a roommate for over 5 years--so learned something from him) I ousted about two years ago--an ""Iraq War Vet/lying kid)by asking himwhat kind of weapon he carried and Imentineed if he carried a SAW or not? and he gave me Deer in headlights look before blurting out:"Why would I carry a saw?" By then I knew he smelled bad--and then gave another chance by asking himif he knew any history of the division he claimed to serve in(which was the 3rd ID--) but he knew not even Audie Leon Murphys name.
