Usually, either my Shield 9mm or G19. When I feel the urge, my 340 M&P or 640-1. Sometimes when I feel particularly edgy, my Combat Commander in .45 ACP.

No sir I did not, honest mistake and I can't believe I did it! ;)

There needs to be some way to edit a poll and add more choices.

Every time I post a poll like this I end up leaving out something that obviously needs to be one of the options.

I realize it screws up the accuracy of the poll to add options after it starts. But these polls aren't very scientific anyway.

Right now I'm switching every 3 months so I can justify my guns. I'm carrying my S&W 1911, Coonan Classic, S&W 9mm Shield, and my S&W 638 Bodyguard w/ 2 1/2" barrel. The first two for the cooler months and the other two for summer.

Lately I have gone back to my 9mm Shield. When clothing restricts a larger firearm, I carry a Seacamp .380.

These days, depending on the occasion and wind direction, the answer is generally either my M&P Shield 40 or my Ruger LCP 380.

However, I also marked 38 because I won't rule out my 642 J-frame that was my EDC until the Shield displaced it. I also marked Other for my little Seacamp 32 that the LCP displaced some time back. I know, it ain't much, but it's something.

Either my Shield 9mm or my 640 Pro. Even though lately I've found myself carrying the Shield more then the 640 Pro.

Nuff said. :D

The correct answer, which is the correct answer to almost all question that come down to opinion, is "it depends."

What I carry when it comes to handgun and caliber depends on: where I'm going, what I'm wearing, the weather, my mood, etc. It is deterrent tools for different jobs sort of thing.

But should it?

Devils advocate....shouldn't you carry the same weapon all the time? Get proficient, comfortable and accurate with one weapon and stick with it. Why switch back and forth and add one more layer of "thinking" about which gun you are carrying in case you ever need to use it.

Always

4" K - M&P .38 or a 4" K - M&P, old or older, on my hip, shirttail in and sometimes out. Gun free zone, don't need to buy anything there. Don't go to school and no kid still at home. No problems.

My favorite carry is a M&P Shield 9 mm. Slim and very easy to conceal. Works with any clothing.

My EDCs are a 2" 10-5 and a 442-1 (no lock).

The 4" 64-3 and 2" 36 get worked in as well.

Always OWB or sometimes J in the pocket, I'll sometimes put the 442 in a holster if I want something lighter than a steel K on that particular day.

but they change according to weather.

Most of the time I have the Model 10 open or concealed.

I'll switch to the 64 for in the woods or in wet weather I'll use the 64 or 36. The 36 is a beater with a crappy finish that I picked up for cheap, so I don't mind if it gets a little wet, as long as I wipe it down when I get home.

Eventually, I want to get a a 2" 64 to sub for the 10 in wet weather. Also, a .38-only 686 would be nice in the woods and for testing handloads.

If all your carry guns have the same manual-of-arms (such as with a revolver, in draw, aim, squeeze), there shouldn't be too much confusion. The four that I regularly carry all operate the same way, just point and shoot, nothing else.

Now, if you throw a gun into the mix with a different MOA, like a 1911 for example, there's potential for confusion under pressure.
