I rotate between a 4566tsw and a 4513tsw I'm a pretty big guy so the full-size pistol fits nicely on my hip.

If all your carry guns have the same manual-of-arms (such as with a revolver, in draw, aim, squeeze), there shouldn't be too much confusion. The four that I regularly carry all operate the same way, just point and shoot, nothing else.

Now, if you throw a gun into the mix with a different MOA, like a 1911 for example, there's potential for confusion under pressure.

Agreed, that was my point. I will say however that even with different guns with the same MOA you may also have different POI's from a sight picture. That may not be an issue in close quarter defense, but still an issue to consider. One of my 3rd gen DAO guns has a dead on sight picture where as one of my other DAOs has a six oclock picture. Something to consider.

I use the KISS principle when it comes to carry

I've always found it hard to understand those who vary their EDC guns.

It seems to me as though one would want to stick to the KISS principle when it comes to a weapon that would be called upon when the adrenaline is flowing and the fight or flight syndrome is in full swing.

That said, being an old fart who likes (and I guess needs things to be simple), I carry a J-Frame either in the right front pocket or in a Galco holster on the belt. Even THAT seems to have the potential for unfortunate consequences should I have a brain malfunction and go digging in my trouser pocket when my revolver is on my belt.

Now don't get me wrong, I have other options, including K-frames and several full-size 9 mm pistols. Love to shoot them but I think I'll KISS and stick to the J-Frames for carry.

Well, to bring a different perspective, varying my carry gun(s) is how I stay sharp. I have to focus every time I change, and I mentally run through the requirements for carrying that particular arm while loading and holstering. I change often enough that I'm not bound to any particular pistol. Forces me to work with every platform I have on a rotating basis, and keeps the range sessions varied and entertaining. I'm not one to buy into that "different pistol for different potential encounters" theory, and I pretty much dress the same year round, with cargo shorts and t-shirts or quarter-zips, so those factors don't really bother me. I do tend to go smaller in the summer just due to the lighter shirts.

I'm glad I made this posting, there is a lot of very good insight on what to carry and why! Again I must apologize for missing the calibers that I did! ;)

Sig P320 Carry in 9mm

My EDC is a parkerized Colt Agent .38 special snub... if I'm feeling a little edgy, I'll add a S&W Chiefs to carry along with the Colt... If serious social work is foretold/worried about & I cannot either cancel that appointment/chore or postpone it to another time... I go to a 4" S&W mod 29, worn in a cross draw clamshell, loaded with medium level .44special loads.

I wish S&W offered Parkerizing as a finish option on their handguns... that finish is much more resistant to rust and wear compared to both bluing and nickel finishes...and it doesn't glare/reflect light in bright sunlight & headlights like stainless does.

ONLY 1 CHOICE?

If you lived in wintertime Fargo year round, I'd go much bigger & likely 2 a Sig p226 or Sig p220 & my 640 under my Filson double mac. Summertime FL a J frame can be a bit bulky in a Tee shirt & swim suit. Now I alternate between the 640 & a Sig p239 40 cal & am seriously thinking of a Seecamp 32.

Taurus PT40 Slim. Lots of punch, small package. Good at close range. My Smith is just too bulky. Will open carry though around the house.
