What do you carry?

EDC / All Day Carry - Shield 9 & G42 backup
EDC seasonal / cold weather (more clothes) PX4 Storm Compact & G42 backup

work carry (G42)
church carry (G42)
yes , I carry and work & absolutely I carry at church (only 3 people know, my wife , myself and the Lord)

IMO , why have a CCW and not carry?
My job as a husband and father is to protect the loved ones..

Well, I sure have a lot of choices, but I mostly carry my 340 PD I. My right front pocket in a pocket holster. A little over 11 ounces empty. Loaded and with the holster, it is still under a pound. Makes it easy to always have it with me. Carry 135 gr Speer Gold Dot short barrel .357s. Not too much recoil, and although they are not full house magnums, they are effective out of the short barrel.

Best Regards, Les

Started out many years ago with a model 37 smith, somehow got sidetracked with bottom feeders that never really had my full trust looking back. Now my daily setup is a 340PD in the pocket. Never felt this easy or effectively armed..357 short barrel Gold Dots, and a speed strip. Ive heard this setup described as the definition of an optimist..LOL:D

About a month and a half ago, I bought a KSD grip for my CS9D.
Since then it has become my go to EDC.

I've carried a Glock 19 for years (and before that a Glock 23) as I carry them regularly enough the mid-size Glock doesn't seem large to me and I shoot them pretty well. In the summer months I find myself carrying a 442 Airweight.

I prefer DAO for carry, after a long time this trio emerged as my regulars:

Going heavy for concealed carry ...

Wanting more firepower than my lightweight carry of 360PD and 3914 DAO I've added a six shot 9mm 547 to be primary to my backup 915 with 17+1 capacity for a total of two dozen Hornady Critical Defense 9mm rounds.

My EDC Setup

Here's my EDC setup. I carry 16/7/365. The other 8 hours is when I'm sleeping, but then I have my Colt .45 M1911 on the nightstand. ;)

Clockwise, starting at 12:00:
  • SnapSafe with cable to secure lockbox inside vehicle (for when I can't carry into a particular building/area)
  • Extended capacity magazine (8 rounds)
  • Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm with seven round magazine (I carry with one in the chamber) with Crimson Tide LaserGuard LG-489 (red)
  • Hornady Critical Defense 9mm jacketed hollow points
  • Böker Plus tactical knife with titanium handle and 440C stainless steel blade
  • Alien Gear Tuck 3.0 IWB holster with shell for S&W M&P Shield 9 w/CT Laser (very comfortable; I highly recommend)

Question...... the 3914 gives you 9 rounds of 9mm vs. the 547 w/ only 6, in a lighter package. Why not the 3914 + the 915???? For 27 rounds of 9mm vs. 24.

Don't get me wrong I love 3" K-frames..... mine are 65s and 66s ! If you were packing your first 6 with .357s vs 9mm ....I'd give it 2 thumbs up!

Carried the 442 for years as my EDC and my Hi-Power ( cond. 1) when carrying FS. Now its my PPS most of the time. LCP for those times I can NOT print and P99 when I carry FS.

Carrying 2 semi's is an option. The 3914DAO is a great choice but being old school I like the revolver as first to fight.

The 547 is twice as heavy and with less rounds than the 3914 but it points so well and is more accurate in sustained fire that I like it for personal defense.

I painted the front blade with white out and that helps greatly with quick sight acquisition almost as fast as the Big Dots on the 3914:

Makes sense......years ago* I thought about carrying 2 guns if the "S-ever -HTF"..... my conclusion was a 4" model 19 strong side in a thumb break holster and a Browning HP crossdraw.

Today I'd be torn between my 3" 66 and a 4" 686 strong side with a 915 (17+1) crossdraw
