What do you guys think of these new Pachmayr grips?

Early April fools joke?

Because that's how silly/ugly these look.

Yeah. Think I'm gonna stick with the wooden ones I already got then lol.

I'm glad to see they brought those back. They're the American Legend grips that were discontinued almost 15-20 years ago. I had a set on a 686 and they were pretty nice but I let them go as they were too big for my hands. Still perfect for those who want both rubber and wood, and despite what some have commented on here they actually look good. Much better than the Gripper grips.

I like them. Not in love with them but they are different and I like different sometimes.

I had a similar set to those mentioned on my 686-no dash. They really don't do anything well and are a 'butt ugly' compromise. They do not absorb shock too well and cosmetically they are 'butt ugly'
The Goodyear's that came with the gun are a better choice but please don't pay good money for something like that.......

If, and I mean a big IF, they worked I'd give them a try. But I don't see how they'd work right with the connection point acting as a pivot.

Oh No, not for me. Look, if you need rubber grips on your gun for recoil control, or you just like them - put a normal set of rubber grips on. Those, IMO, are hideous.

I came across these on Pachmayr's website. They say they will be out May of this year. Can't figure out if I like me or not. Ordered a set of the American Legends for my 1911, and I'm debating if I want a set of these for my 6" 686, which currently wears a set of deccelorators for the range. Thoughts?

:( Frank is turning over in his grave.

Pachmayr has some discontinued models that would have been far better to bring back than THESE!
